ENDUR-ACIN® Extended Release Niacin 250mg, Nicotinic Acid, 200 Tablets

Hooray! With these, I can finally tolerate Niacin! Low-dose, so I could start small and build, as needed and tolerated. I've always flushed with Niacin. Even the other so-called "slow" types of Niacin made me flush. I had given up on Niacin, until a dear friend told me about these and explained why they were different from the rest. With these, I could start with just one 250 mg, and am now up to 750 mg per day (mild flushing only one day, but that was my fault...) Here's what I did: I started with one at night, had no problems, and just 2 days later, I tried increasing to two at night and experienced mild flushing the next day, so I dropped back to just one at night. After two weeks, I added the second one at night. No Flushing! Two weeks later, I added one in the morning, and have still had no more flushing! I am thrilled! Thank you Enduracin!

I had tried a few other slow release no flushing niacin products, but I often had really bad flushing once or twice a week sometimes to the point that it felt like my skin was on fire. Endur-acin is the real deal. Absolutely no flushing most of the time and the few times I had flushing it was very minor, even at the same dosage. Plus it is real Nicotinic Acid which is the form that helps control cholesterol.

I had previously taken a 500mg slo-release Niacin version. I didn’t make the association at first but after about 3-4 days I experienced a severe hot flash. My skin became reddened and I was so uncomfortable I had to go outside because the outdoor temp was in the 50s. However even outside when the sun hit me I thought my skin was going to burn off. Thought I was turning into a vampire. So I’ve been trying this at 250mg dosage starting at every other day. No issues. Now I’m at every day - no issues. So my 4 star rating is for easy to swallow, low cost, no severe hot flash. If later on there has been an actual impact on my cholesterol I’d give this 5 stars. My cholesterol isn’t high on an absolute basis but it was suggested to me that at my age I might benefit from a statin. I’m not fond of that idea, I find that losing weight and keeping it at a good level has more impact, which I’ve done. If this Niacin improves my cholesterol even more then I’ll be more than satisfied. If necessary I could increase it to 2 a day to equal 500mg but I’m not going to risk the severe hot flash.

THE FLUSHING WAS HORRIBLE WITH THIS PRODUCT

I bought this product because it's been proven to lower bad cholesterol. It very well may have done that but it gave me some brutal headaches consistently day after day so I had to return it. The small tablets are easy to swallow and no issues but I couldn't tolerate the headaches.
