I love this curling iron. I have had trouble finding one that is easy to use and has a decent barrel size. And heats up nicely. I have owned one like this before, but lost it. This was worth replacing. I have difficulty with larger barrel sizes because my hair is not long enough in the places where I need the curve. My hair will not respond unless wrapped around a barrel small enough in circumference, but not too big. Hence, the curve works with my fine hair, which will not be smooth enough in a larger-barrel curling iron unless I use additional styling tools—double damage. Unless you want more bells and whistles, you will be happy with this good-quality item. It is basic, with the on/off functions showing, and you need to make sure to turn it off. If you want to gift something, you might find it cost-effective to pair it with other hair products, like a heat styling leave-in product and clips to keep the hair sectioned like they do in the salons. I must use Amazon's gift delivery service because I live far from my loved ones. This is cost-effective and a tried-and-true method that still has a place in today's world. This is a product you can use carefully, yet you don't have to worry about the smell unless you push it with too much heat or products that aren't meant for heat styling. The speed and average temperature are easy. It will hold up well if you have the type of heart that usually responds. My hair is not straight and has a bit of natural wave. Though if you have straight hair, I think the medium barrel, or smaller one, will work well, especially with hair products for the body. For me this has great hold. Enjoy!

I got this to replace my old and well-used Conair curling iron. It's pretty much the same (is probably just the newer version), works well, I like the stand and it's easy to use. The barrel seems shorter than my old one which is a disappointment. The cord is quite short. It works for me and my setup at home but I could see it being a problem under other circumstances.

Very pleased with new replacement Conair curling iron. This new model heats up so much faster which saves time and energy. I used to always just unplug old model and plug it back in as needed. This model must be turned on every time I use it. Much safer

I wish I had this back 30 years ago. I think heat did a lot of damage to my hair years ago in the past. I like that this you can pick the temperature setting. I have fine thinning hair you shouldn't even use hot water on. So that is why it is so nice to be able to use a low heat setting so it doesn't damage my hair. I think it is great.

Great barrel size for a beachy wave. I just think my hair needs more heat for its texture - it takes a few passes to get the curls to stick. If you're someone who doesn't need the curling iron to be at its max heat to do your hair, it'll work amazingly. Heats up quickly and has a auto-off for people like me who forget to turn things off.

The second i finish the curls it goes down and doesnt last although i have a thick hair… also watch out as I had to pay delivery fees to return it!
