TOOLIOM True Color Flip Up Auto Darkening Welding Helmet

I bought this for projects in my garage and was impressed by the quality and function of the hood. Ive been welding for over 20 years in my line of work and for the price its absolutely worth buying and will do the job. Its comfortable and light with a large viewing area. Totally worth 40 bucks. I have a big head and it fits fine. Bought another one to teach the wife and kids. Worth it.

I work in structural & custom fab welding services for 30-40 hrs a week as well as taking welding classes for a degree in college when I am not working (lecture + labs). I found this welding hood great for the price. I do get everything I can out of a tool I purchase so I tend to wear out a lot of my clothes, gloves, shoes/boots and tools. This hood was purchased at the beginning of February and am planning on getting a new welding hood very soon. (Better quality) I do love the fact you just lift up and you can grind, cut, measure etc. Problems occured during the 3rd or 4th month like replacing the clear lenses which you will have to order and most likely cut to size or the head gear does not tighten or keep the hood from falling. (Tighteners on the sides) It is not as light as another hood without the flip up component and you do feel relieved when you take the hood off but you get used to the weight. It is fairly comfortable. Definitely worth the money but don't expect it to last years. Good fab hood.

Ignore the negative reviews, or better yet pay close attention to them. They are all easily dealt with , these people are the live to whine types. All though I'm sure there have been some defects in these hoods here and there, that the nature of large scale manufacturing. That being said, the one I ordered and received is actually better than it is described in my opinion in pretty much every way. I say buy it people, be your own judge but for the price you really have nothing to lose, myself I'm totally satisfied 39

Head net is weak and lame. Upgrade to a two point head net Lincoln brand u won't regret it. But extra lens because these lens don't last 80 hours of grinding and MIG welding. Cutting with torch is kinda lame aswell because the lens go dark even at setting 9.

It's fine for a cheap hood.The settings for the shades don't really work very well and you can't find replacement clear lenses to it. So remember to buy a hood and clear lenses that fit at the same time cause you will need them if you weld alot. I am using mine in the shop for a manufacturing job.

I bought this to use with a welder I had purchased so this was for a first time use as I have never welded before. I tested it when it arrived and seemed to work okay, nice it came assembled which my first helmet of a different make didn't (that one was returned for defects). I just put this on my head, adjusted as needed and it was done. just used it for the first time today and the auto darkening worked perfectly, no damage to my eyes. I like the flip up part of the screen to see better or for grinding although it is a little harder to operate when wearing welders gloves I found. Cannot fault the item at all, very happy.

I only mig or stick when something breaks. I replaced an older self darkening hood. This one is far superior to whet I had. This allows you to hardly ever have to flip up the lens because you can see clearly enough for me before the auto darkening kicks in.

I purchased this helmet for my hubby who is an experienced combination welder for more than 25 years. He was skeptical at first but when he took it to work the first day it worked like a charm. He said that the only downside is that he cannot use it to weld stainless steel. He has been asked to get a few more for his work colleagues so I guess that’s a plus for this review.

This is good value for money. I like the option of lifting the faceplate without the need to remove the helmet. No complaints, works ok
