Legion Stonehenge Pad, 9 X 12 inches, White, 15 Sheets

This is very nice professional artist grade, not student or hobbiest grade, archival paper that is an excellent value for the money. Compared to most other paper on the market that is not 100% cotton, the difference is in the longevity. Want artwork that will last a century and not just decades? This is the paper. It won’t yellow overtime or become brittle. The size is exactly as advertised. It is NOT meant for markers or wet media whatsoever as it will absorb and bleed through, keep in mind that it is a characteristic and not a flaw. As the cover says it’s a specialty paper for colored pencils and can most definitely handle graphite too. It does have a decent thickness, though not quite as thick as I’d like it but absolutely not a deal breaker as it is a very nice paper that gets the job done. If this paper isn’t thick enough or to your liking, my recommendation to anyone would be to purchase the Fabriano Artistico Hot Pressed Watercolor, Lux Archival, Arches Hot-Pressed Watercolor, Strathmore 500 Bristol Vellum or Derwent Lightfast Paper for archival results. All those papers are 100% Cotton with no added wood pulp ideal for professional colored pencil work. St. Cuthberts Mill Bockingford Hot Pressed Watercolor Paper is also great and unique for archival colored pencil work even if it’s not 100% cotton. Legion Stonehenge White is by no means is a disappointment and is among the best papers on the market that money can buy for the graphite and colored pencil mediums. It may seem like a pricy paper, but that’s the difference paid for something that is of proven archival quality.

So far, I've only used this to sketch out some future paintings, so can't really comment on it's use for painting. It does say it's appropriate for watercolor, colored pencil, pastels.... & the list goes on. I bought it to use with colored pencils (which I haven't yet done) because it's a pure white paper & I read where it's one of the best papers for colored pencil. When I use it for that, I'll come back & revise my review. I do like the paper. It's smooth & easy to sketch & draw on. It wasn't too expensive for a quality product, so I consider it a good buy & would probably buy it again. It came well packaged with no damage.

This is an excellent paper for pencil drawings. Smooth surface. The sheets are strongly glued at the upper side and sometimes it's a little bit tricky to release a sheet from the pad without bending it. The price is high but it seems to be made in the USA.

This paper is perfect for drawing and I believe it's good for watercolor as well

The paper texture is different in this one. I have a few of these pads in various sizes, purchased directly from Blick or Jerry's over the years. This pad, at least the one I received, is like a bristol smooth on the front of the sheet and vellum on the back. My identical current working pad is vellum tooth on both sides. Maybe slightly smoother on the back. Barely perceptible if there is a difference in texture front to back. The Stonehenge warm white pad I ordered from here at the same time has tooth on both sides like all of the Stonehenge White pads I've bought and used previously. Even the little mini ones. I only use one side regardless. I don't think (?) it will make a difference with any water use. I'll just have to remove the sheet and flip it to toothy side. I prefer to keep my work connected to the glue top with a sheet of glassine between the working page and the cover and another under the working sheet to protect the lower pages. I had to knock off a star for that. The description does not indicate a difference in surface texture, or a new manufacturing process. I checked Legion's website as well. Perhaps its a one off manufacturing error. Either way, my use is graphite, light water use with soluble graphite and polychromos. I particularly love this paper for Faber Castell Polychromos. I have no issues with very light water use. There's just a bit of weird texture, rather, lack thereof on the topside, with this particular pad of paper. I can use pva glue to rebind if needs be, and probably will. I dont want the page sliding around before im ready to fix it. ( by the by, I use Lineco ph neutral pva glue for making my own custom sized watercolor blocks and gluebound pads. Lineco makes a great archival glue and it's easy to do :-) if anyone wants to give it a try. Lots of good tips and tricks on youtube) Have a beautiful rest of your day dear review reader. Art on!🤘

This is some really nice paper. I mainly do pencil drawing so I don't know how well it holds up to paint, watercolor, etc., but for my needs it is exceptional. It does have texture to it, but I noticed the back is a bit smoother which I prefer. Holds up to multiple erasing really well, and feels very sturdy all around.

This paper is nice and heavy which works great for my color pencil drawings.

I have tried several high-quality papers. I have discovered that Legion Stonehenge paper is the best for color penciling, charcoal, and ink. It is easy to work with and erase, smudge, blend, and combine with various mediums. This paper is costly, but it saves me time when I want to do my best. I have practiced freelance art for over 30 years and have never found a better paper than Stonehenge.

Haven't used the paper yet, but unfortunately it came damaged in a corner. Maybe i will return it

La superficie es lisa, no tiene diente, lo uso con lápices de color polychromos en combinación con plumones de alcohol, funciona muy bien con capas de colores sobre el plumón, volveré a comprarlo en mayor tamaño, recomendado.

Es sin duda uno de,los mejores papeles para la técnica de lápices de color.
