Stubborn Acne AM Face Treatment, 2.0 oz

I have tried a gazillion skincare products, including high end, and I swear the cystic acne I became plagued by post-menopause almost broke me. I tried it all, I was consistent, I was careful, and my skin broke out more with cystic acne than it did when I was younger. I think I used Neutrogena in my 20’s, and out of desperation, I bought this. My face has been clear since I started using this. Good size, lasts 4-6 weeks I’d estimate. A little goes a long way. I use most days, and no trouble with drying out my skin. (I alternate with a retinol twice a week.)

Cleared up face. Smelled fine. Not expensive.

I’ve used the Obagi mirconized BPO for stubborn breakouts since I was a teenager. On a whim and dealing with some “pomade acne” last summer, I searched for micronized BPO and was DELIGHTED to find this product from Neutrogena! This has a more viscous texture than the Obagi product but works JUST AS WELL, or BETTER! I’m FLOORED! I’m just about to purchase a second tube to keep on hand just in case, because this really does work well! It’s best if you can do your normal PM routine and then use this as your treatment step. It may dry you out and it WILL bleach your pillowcase and pajamas, but it WILL work!

I've been dealing with hormonal/cystic acne outbreaks and I was initially suggested benzoyl peroxide for relief. This stuff is very effective and an affordable option for treatment, but with a few caveats. Benzoyl peroxide is HARSH on the skin. This stuff will dry you out and wreck your skin barrier if you're not careful. The product itself says to use all over the face, but that was one of the ways I quickly wrecked my skin. Use it more as a spot treatment to target pimples and problem areas if you want to be safe. Secondly, your skin will either burn or become covered in melasma and dark spots if you're not careful. I ended up with the latter. SPF is a MUST and applying it diligently all day. This product will increase your sun sensitivity. I'm now in the process of trying to rehab my skin after years of benzoyl peroxide causing discolored skin, even with SPF usage. Lastly, benzoyl peroxide will STAIN. If you have any residual amounts on your hands and touch your clothing or a hand towel after washing your hands, it's going to bleach your clothes/towels. If you try to use the product at night, it will bleach your bedding like pillow cases or anything that potentially touches your face. Be very, very careful not to get it on anything that you don't want ruined.

This product has always been a go-to for me since I have stubborn, sensitive acne. When paired with my spot treatment, my acne is reduced significantly.

Works but stains clothes. We found out the hard way, my son stained his favorites tees before we realized it was the cream.

I had a terrible, painful breakout with severe swelling and redness that looked horrible. I applied a thin layer of this 2.5% micronized benzoyl peroxide treatment, and the results the next day were jaw-dropping. Within basically one single day, the swelling went all the way down, and the redness disappeared. My skin looks so much better and is almost completely clear. What I love most is that the micronized formula absorbs quickly without leaving a heavy, chalky white residue, and the oil-free, paraben-free formula didn't dry out my skin excessively like other benzoyl peroxide products do. If you are struggling with stubborn breakouts and need fast, visible relief, this is worth every penny.

I could genuinely feel the burn on the affected area after cleansing, it was like an oven for the bacteria and man did it do the job effectively. Say goodbye to breakouts.

New pimples are not coming, fades the old marks

I use this for my underarms , and it works I don’t need to use deodorant anymore. But this is too drying so be careful not to use everyday for sensitive areas. I did not use this for my face , too drying
