READ....ON...for more details on these 5 Gal grow bags I purchased in May 2023
You must elevate the bottom of each grown bag or they become filled with mildew and can't be reused! I've been growing my cukes, peppers and zucchini in the grow bags on my wooden deck, and you can see what the bag looks like on the bottom after use without moving the bag off the deck. I don't want you to go through this, so my idea was to put the grow bags on milk crates. I just did this yesterday, 2 months after use.Otherwise, I do recommend the bags, as I've got a lot of fresh grown veggies from these bags! They seem to aerate well and drain out the bottom. I will not be reusing mine due to the mold and mildew on the bottom and sides.

Great but watch out
Purchased for a deck growI could not have been happier bags have a wide base which is great to protect from blow overs as well as sturdy walls the breathable bottom makes it great for watering with no worry of sure to built in drainageOnly issue is if u fill this with soil, you had best have a friend to help you move them, they can get extreamly heavy with wet soil

Great 👍
Love these. Have hard clay like ground. Put these on patio and works good if I have to move them around by handles. Tomatoes growing good. Like they are reusable.

Worth it
After reading the other reviews there were 2 main things I was concerned about—drainage and cleanliness with the lighter bags. After watching my blueberries this week, I can see those concerns were actually one and the same. Some photos I saw made the bag seem like it was dirty after watering the plant—that’s not mud/dirt, it IS the drainage. The water comes out the sides of the pot rather than the bottom. Which is pretty cool. After the excess water drains, the bag returns to its usual color. There were some reviews that said they cut holes in the bottom for drainage—they ruined a lovely bag. Don’t do that. The pot has a pretty thick durable fabric that has just enough give to manipulate it to the height you need if your not using the full 15 gallons. Thats great for hilling, so I might try potatoes in one of my remaining bags. I can see this a wonderfully affordable option for a small duplex like mine. Raised garden beds are pretty, but I’m not tearing up this rental property. Currently regrowing a lettuce plug, so that may be next as well. My tomato plant has plenty of room as well, very satisfied. Will definitely consider these if I expand my garden in the future.

GOOD QUALITY AND STURDY GROW BAGS
2 month update….my little garden is a beautiful jungle!! (See pic) The tomato plants are over 5 feet tall and full of tomatoes! Everything is growing AMAZINGLY! Bags are still sturdy and holding up perfect. I suspect they’re going to last for many seasons. These bags were a game changer! So far I'm extremely impressed with the quality of these bags. They came vacuum sealed and nicely packaged. Seems to be a thick/durable material. Handles are reinforced on the inside (see pic). They're large enough where I think they'll accommodate a tomato cage. I have not added the soil yet, but they seem like they're going to stand up well because the bottom appears nice and flat. It stands up well even without soil in it. My plan is to put them in saucers and have them wick up the water on really hot days, and they seem like they'll do that nicely. I'll update once planted, but I have very high hopes that they'll work fabulously. For the price, they've exceeded my expectations so far. RECOMMEND!UPDATE - 3 WEEKS LATEREverything is growing amazing!! They hold a lot more soil than I expected. A 55 quart bag of potting soil will fill a little over 2 bags....so plan accordingly! They've been wicking up water nicely and everything I've planted is thriving and growing beautifully! Just added tomato cages and they fit perfectly (see pic). STILL RECOMMEND!!

Been eating fresh salads every day all season
So many positive things to say. I have been wanting to grow vegetables in my yard for a long time, but did not want to make the investment in permanent raised beds. This is the first time I have grown so much food, so easily. Do your research and buy the best soil you can afford… I tried many different kinds of soil in different bags, and the most expensive organic soils performed the best. As the seasons changed, I was able to drag the bags around to optimize sun exposure… very hot days required watering twice a day. I was able to grow sunflowers, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, kale, swiss chard, celery, radishes, carrots, snow peas, beans, and misc other vegetables, and have been eating fresh salads every day for months. In the past, I have failed at planting a garden… but sowing seeds in these bags is super easy… I was able to transplant marigolds, sunflowers, poppies, nasturtiums that I germinated in these bags.It can be difficult to lift these bags without cracking the soil early in the season… once the roots are more established, they can be dragged around, and lifted pretty easily. When production of tomatoes started slowing down, I added mushroom compost to all the bags and they all continued to perform. I rotated crops easily.Grow bags allow you to plan garden, identify plants, etc. When I sow, I take photos of what I have sown, to help me keep track of where things are growing

Reasonable alternative to large pots
These fabric planters are working well so far. Plants in place and growing well, with decent water retention. When watering they do leak from the sides a little more than I had expected but nonetheless retain moisture well.I've moved the pots only once when full and they survived but I wouldn't want to be moving them frequently for fear of the material ripping.Worth the money and after my vegetables have finished for the year I can fold these up and pack away.
