The tool worked great! Made install on my brand new fork very easy. It made the install take less than 5 minutes. And it set the star nut straight. Before I would use my own method without any special tools, and it would go in a little crooked. But this tool made it very easy to set it at the correct distance in the tube and set it straight.

5 stars because they got the job done. With the help of a 3lb hammer, a 2x4, and a concrete curb. I would have never got this to work if I didnt buy this tool. I would have rather waited and installed it in with my hydrolic press though. I had to whale on it, to the point of deforming the tool. And forget ever getting it out. Since it did the job, there is no complaints short of it may not put more than one in.

This was my first time swapping a front fork cutting down the steer tube then using this product to put the star nut in Place worked perfectly. I have no doubts about my abilities, but as a first time doing this, it was effortless and worked great.

Does what it says on the tin, and admirably too, for a random generator private label straight-from-Guangdong cut-rate tool. The material of the thread and the ID of the sleeve leave something to be desired, as it can be a pain to release the thread after hammering the star nut in, and the star nuts are ever-so-slightly off kilter, but I've done 18 star nuts with this and haven't yet had the threaded rod break or a nut go in so sidelong as to not line up with the top cap. However, one unexpected bonus is that due to its looseness, I can use this to re-set hand-set star nuts and get them aligned properly, especially after someone cuts down their stem and uses a bolt to hammer the nut down haphazardly (seriously, just bring it in, we have tube cutters and tools to do this quickly, stop hack-sawing your bicycle parts).

Worked great installing a star nut in bike forks. Much better quality than I expected for such a low price.

Got it. Got fork without inserters with discount and took me 5 mins to insert. Glad I got it. Last time I did that without tool and that was a PAIN.

This thing was really solidly built and fit nicely over my 1 1/8 Surly Krampus fork to install a new star nut (which were included with the tool). It took a few solid whacks with a good RUBBER mallet (don't use a steel hammer) and the star nut was properly recessed and well-centered. Probably took less than a minute. I've had some bad experiences with non-name-brand, inexpensive bike tools... Made of cheap, soft metal that gets chewed up in just a few uses... stuff like that. This isn't one of those tools. It exceeded expectations for the price.

Great tool, solid build, works perfectly, reasonable price. A must have for any bike mechanic.

The tool wasn't as much of a tight fit as I expected yet the installation was perfect. Just make sure that the hammer blow are perfectly perpendicular and the tool will make the installation a breeze.
