Great upgrade should have done it sooner. Easy install
I recently upgraded my audio system in my 2007 335i, and it was a game-changer. The installation process was surprisingly easy, especially with all the necessary parts included, and no different from any other audio/video upgrade. The installation was straightforward and a little tight with the extra cabling but it does fit. Once everything was set up, most features worked perfectly, but I ran into an issue with Carplay calling. While callers could hear me fine, I couldn't hear them through the car's speakers. After some research and help from the seller, I figured out the problem. Here's what I did to fix it:1. Make sure your car's OEM system is set to AUX mode for audio to come through the new unit. (The aux connection that comes from the new harness to the center console)2. Turn off your car's OEM Bluetooth and unpair your phone if it's already connected. (you can't have Bluetooth connected to both units)3. In the Xtrons apps, find "Car info" click on "General settings "look for "Bluetooth Call Switch" and uncheck the box. By default, this option is enabledFollowing these steps, everything worked perfectly, and I couldn't be happier with the upgrade. The photos uploaded of settings were provided by the seller figured I would share. I hope this helps anyone who is having the same issue.

Fantastic technology, a bit rough to install.
I've had my unit in my car and functioning for a week and it has been solid. What I love most about this product is it's superior quality and broad range of technology. This thing does everything and works perfectly now that I've got it installed correctly. The downside of this product is it's lack of documentation and instruction on how to install it. I can't blame Xtron, there would be so much to cover so they simply rely on their customer base to provide YouTube installation videos, etc. which were difficult to find videos for every question and problem I had. Most of the installation problems stem from the car itself (2007 BMW 335i) for example; tight spaces for the new wiring, difficult to reach parts, etc. The Xtron unit has new connections on the bottom for wifi and other that the original screen did not so I had to grind out the plastic in the back of the screen space so that it would fit in properly.Overall this is an amazing piece of technology and if you have the time and inclination to install it yourself, look on the web for YouTube videos. Also, Xtron is extremely fast to respond to email so reach out to them for help as well.

Awesome upgrade/Easy install
I was able to have everything wired up and installed in less than an hour. Powered up first try. Everything worked so far. Haven't got camera put in yet, but deff worth the money! Will update future, only been installed couple days.

Works but OEM screen off center
Everything on the Android/carplay side works as it should. But when you switch back to OEM screen, it’s off center. I have tried to change the setting every option possible, but it won’t correct itself. Customer support has been lackadaisical.

Common sense + YouTube + time
Took me ages to install this, mainly because the CD/Computer unit wouldn't fit back into the dash as the fat ISO harness was blocking it at every angle. I split the cable (it was taped to look like a Y harness, I just seperated the cables) and put the "block" to the right and the rest of the cables to the left.If you have the Video Interface for BMW 1/3/5/6/X5/X6 Series with PIP function (iDrive Support), you can disconnect all the wires besides power and the cable for the rearview camera. The new headunit switches into reverse automatically, and does not need the "reverse-in" to be spliced.

Very difficult to install
No support available and directions are vague at best. They don’t tell you where to connect auxiliary port to, in still have no sound from the unit!

Definitely a HUGE UPGRADE
I installed the unit myself after watching some YouTube videos and it was super easy! This particular unit, I didn't need to run an AUX cord to the center console at all! Made it so much quicker. The sound quality is excellent and the Bluetooth connection really made my day. The WiFi also works surprisingly well too. The Easy Connect is a game changer!

Bring your older BMW uptodate
I have the unit for about a month. Here is my initial impression.Pro:1. Not difficult to install, if you are somewhat handy around cars. Youtube has many install videos.2. Huge upgrade to older BMW CCC. Higher resolution and better color screen.3. Better than expect customer service. I contacted the seller a few times, before and after sale. They answered within a couple of business days. Even sent a firmware update.4. I use it mostly with Apple Carplay. Unit would switch to Carplay automatically after connecting to USB. I prefer USB to BT.5. Allow for backup camera. The screen would switch to backup camera when shift to reverse gear. Another must have upgrade.Con:1. Could use better manuals, both install and user manuals. Better explanation of what all the wires are for. In my case, I found the "Aux-Output" phone jack is actually "Aux-Input" jack. One can play audio from an external device through the jack.2. Need a manual to explain the secret settings. The one that requires a pass code.3. Software is a bit buggy. In my case, the unit would once in while stop responding to the idrive button input. Touch screen still works. Turning off the unit (ie the car) and restarting fixes the issue. All and all, it is a worthy upgrade. I'll see what is its long term reliability.
