It All Began When I Said Yes

Wasn’t particularly enamoured by the plot. Nicely illustrated though!

Purchased for my 3 year old god son and he loves it. Great story and the illustrations are really colourful and fun.

Really well illustrated- so much fun detail and humour in every scene.

Bought for my 2 year old niece - she loves it! I enjoyed it too.

A girl says no a lot to her parents, who ask her to try and say 'yes' more. So when a gorilla comes to the door with requests, she keeps saying yes. Until it becomes a bit much...I liked the idea of this story, but I just didn't think this made the point well enough, or with enough humour.It seemed a bit overdone yet everyday somehow, with a hint of Kerr's Tiger. There's an adult book (by Danny Wallace, also made into a film) on this subject, where things get quite ridiculous and very funny, the situations a person could find themself in.Finished this and felt it could have been better. And it felt as if it tried to make a point then prove it wrong (saying yes seemed just as bad as constant no).... hard to explain to a young listener.Interesting illustration style, different looking gorilla, and a nice messy-haired girl.For ages 3-6.
