Just bought a new home and didn’t want to spend money on a professional locksmith. I checked to make sure my locks were kwikset smart locks. I bought this kit. And within minutes had reset my locks to new keys. Easy process, and super quick.

These keys are awesome. It’s really easy to rekey my locks with this system. You have to make sure you have a smart key lock before you buy it to make sure it will work for you. Rekeying literally took seconds for me. 10/10 will buy again.

perfect for changing my Kwikset smart lock; this is a dream for renters, you may rotate the keys each time people moves out, by keeping the old ones, and replacing with new ones. Beware of the smart key insert tool; it is not easy to use while key is in place. The original one is just a piece of thin metal. the new one has plastic enclosure which can interfere with the process. I had to rekey again because it cause my new key to not fully been inserted and botched the job. Luckily there is a video that tells you how to undo the process.

This set contains two sets of keys (four of the silver main ones, and then two of the bronze "alternates") along with a kwikset rekeying tool (which is just a small flat metal rod - if you have something else that is rigid and about the same size and shape, you don't specifically need it) and directions for rekeying. Now, I bought this knowing I wouldn't be able to rekey as easily as the directions said, since, thanks to some poor planning, I no longer had any keys that fit my lock. Using a few easy youtube tutorials, though, I was able to rekey without the original key in about half an hour (and that counts taking the whole lock assembly apart first!). It's very doable, even for the non-DIY-inclined - which is great, because even if you do have the original key, if you fail to follow the rekey instructions correctly, you can end up in the same position I did. Does that suggest the strongest security? Eh, probably not. But this isn't a review for the lock - just these tools, and they work great :). All of the silver keys match each other well and work smoothly in the lock. I tried the rekey tool to rekey the lock to the bronze and back to the silver and it's very easy - as long as you *follow the directions completely*. Seriously, don't end up with a lock that matches no keys...while it is technically a fixable issue, it's a lot more irritating than just reading the thing in the first place.

Just bought a house and replaced all my exterior door knobs with the kwikset smart key knobs and this was awesome and easy to use! Now all my doors are the same key, instead of a different key for each door.
