Prism Kite Technology Tantrum 220 Dual-line Parafoil Kite with Control Bar

The kite came already assembled and ready to fly. This was my first parafoil kite purchase and it was so easy to learn. BUT I do come from a jumping background, so the science of how parachutes fly is an easy concept for me to understand. The first day I flew the kite was in 25mph winds and let me tell you, this thing has some pull to it. It practically drug me through the yard. I own 6 acres, so I have plenty of room to fly and I needed every acre. I also flew the kite in 10mph winds and it flew perfect. The only issue I had was flying it on a day with variable wind directions. I found myself chasing the wind bubble quite a bit but that seems pretty normal and no fault of the kite. While I do enjoy this purchase because of the absolute power it has, I also purchase two Prism Synapse 120 kites for my girls. I actually enjoy flying those more than the larger one. They are really zippy in the air and loads of fun. Great purchase across the board. Can't go wrong with Prism!

25-30 years ago I was introduced to the fun world of 2 line stunt kites, I can't believe I missed it this much!! Let me tell you, this is the funnest thing to do on a windy day, I can't believe how hard this pulled in the power zone!! My wife flew it too and she's never flown these types of kites before. I'll have to be careful not to get hooked on these, this is an AWESOME kite!!

I’ve had this kite out once and it is an absolute blast to fly! I had a smaller 140cm kite but like this one a lot more. Doesn’t fly as fast edge to edge which is good for me, pulls harder and flies better in lower winds. The customer service at Prism is TOP shelf and the kite is well built. Having the control bar keeps the lines nice and neat and makes it great to fly. Highly recommend this kite!!

Definitely not a beginners kite. Nor is it one for young kids. In a 20 + MPH wind this kite was able to drag this full grown adult across the sand. Easy to learn and very forgiving until you get up to its max wind levels. At that point it’s a wild ride. But, if you’re careful about keeping the kite at the edge of the “wind window” it’s docile and easy to land. Out of its container “backpack” the kite was perfectly tuned. Just unwind the line and fly. This is the perfect entry into “power” kites.

Great Kite. Fun to fly and had great instructions and flying challenges. My son wrapped it around a tree the first day we flew it in Hawaii and we lost the control bar and lines (they ended up 30' high in a palm tree (we should have used the included leash). They were gracious enough to send me a new control bar and lines for $30 including shipping. Gret company, great support as well. Thank you Prism!

I bought the 220 version and I am very happy with my purchase. Everything is extremely well built with very high quality material. I don't think the sail, the strings nor the bar definitely won't break any time soon. I think the 220 size is perfact if you live in a windy area like me (Ireland). It's fast & strong enough to pull me in medium/high winds no bother! 10/10 product and well worth the money.

Looking to get into kiteboarding and they say the first thing to do is find your self a trainer kite. I flew it tonight, it's the 220 model and its a nice kite and durable so far, Great price as well and I'm sure a good alternative to the slingshot B2 trainer. That said I'm approx 180# and it pulls OK had to put a foot infront of another once or twice but that was it. I kind of wish I went for the 250 model, Winds to me were blowing pretty good however gusty, so it did fall out of the air at times that maybe a bit more size could of helped. All in all it's doing its job though for the learning part and it's some fun as well!

A TON of fun. Mostly in quarantine time. Now every day i look outside if its windy enough. I wouldnt recommand for kids ( it pull hard and can hurt the face of someone with the tight stringehile flying.. and i speak with experience). There is 3 main things you need to enjoy it. First a low-moderate wind. Second a large area without ANYONE/ANYTHING in the way. Third learn on youtube how to properly. Lay your kite for an easy takeoff( or you gonna hate this kite) if you follow that, its gonna be your best kite experience i promise. And its an amazing exercice in moderate++ wind. Worth every $$$. Bonne performant du kite pour l'apprentissage, belle qualités de toile, point faible les caissons sont fermé, c'est inutile comme le kite n'est pas conçu pour aller a l'eau, ça le rend difficile pour vider les caissons de sable quand utiliser a la plage. Aucune ligne arrière ( pas de frein) qui rend les atterrissage moins conviviale par temps venteux et impossible de faire retourner le kite quand il est posé avec le bord d'attaque face au sol. Qualité des lignes a désirer mais ok pour le prix.
