Fourth UPDATE 10/14: OOPS - warranty support needed Fits the Bill! Great Small Compressor Cooler
Last update: Bodega responded within two hours of my reaching out for warranty details! The warranty is complete and the process simple with no need to ship anything to China. I am glad I cancelled my Alpicool order and ordered the seemingly identical Bodega unit. As a seller, I highly recommend Onetree, the Bodega seller on Amazon and the folks at the other end of the Messenger Chat session I had. Fourth update: I did get a contact from Alpicool - but only *AFTER* I requested cancellation. Their response to my explanation and an offer for them to try and โmake it right was given a terse response. They did cancel the new (replacement) order. I can recommend the product, but not the seller. Letโs see how the Bodega-labeled unit performs. I wonโt purchase another Alpicool product after this experience. Third update: I cancelled the replacement order and ordered the Bodega 25k. Same unit. Inventory in the US. Flash deal @$240. Free returns. Probably made by Alpicool, and itโs another Chinese trading company - but Iโm really put off by the lack of support response. Additionall, although I can cancel the Bodega unit directly on Amazon, I had to โrequest cancellationโ from Alpicool even though it was only 15 or 20 minutes after I ordered. I like the cooler but not the seller. Second update: I have not had any contact from Alpicool. So be mindful of the return period and the warranty period. Because we purchased well in advance of when we needed the cooler we were well beyond the return period. In fact, even though we were well within the a year system and 3 year compressor warranty - neither does any good if the seller (Alpicool USA) doesnโt respond. Amazon to the rescue! Being a long term Prime member has benefits. With zero hassle, Amazonโs phone rep was empowered to issue a return authorization with free return shipping (less a 10% restocking fee). Iโm not going to whine about the $25 fee or the $12 for UPS packing. Iโm going to celebrate Amazonโs performance. As for the cooler? Well, it performed well and very efficiently so rather switch brands to the devil I donโt know, I reordered one I do know. One key requirement we had was loop handles I can use to strap the cooler down to our Compact SUVโs cargo loops and most small compressor coolers only have molded grips, not loop handles. Since the core compressor is from LG I choose to assume our vibration/noise issue was a one-off. As for Alpicool being non-responsive? I might continue trying to get them to respond if only to post yet another update. First update: the cooler met our requirements on the road. When plugged into an Ecoflow Pro the overnight drawdown was only 20-25% or the total charge so good efficiency when used as a fridge at 38 degrees (in cooler overnight weather). HOWEVER - after the first 4-5 days of use in the car on 12v the compressor developed a very loud vibration for the first 5-8 minutes after start-up, then things quieted down. I am now concerned about a potential failure. I sent an email to Alpicool on the 8th or 9th and have not had a response. Today, 10/13 I left a voicemail on their "Google Phone" voicemail system which reflects their Ontario California address. The phone number in the app seems to be for Romania or Kazakhstan. So now the jury is out re customer support. I will report back with progress. If the process is a bit goofy but effective I will report that. If the support fails I will report that and then follow up with Amazon. Fingers crossed . . . ===================================================================== We purchased this cooler to use in conjunction with an EcoFlow Pro "power pack" in our car for long road trips. The Alpicool will plug into the EcoFlow Pro and the Pro will connect to a 10 amp 12v socket in the car for charging on the go. Energy efficiency is, therefore, important. We've been running the Alpicool for 2 weeks in "freezer mode" in our kitchen to test temp control etc. The unit can go to 15 degrees F and has varied between 15 and 18 degrees. The fan is VERY quiet. We've had commercial ice in the unit and it has stayed in individual cubes and hasn't become a solid mass - a good indicator of consistent temperature. We also had it functioning as a fridge for 3-4 days running off of the EcoFlow *without charging*. We put in about 1/2 capacity of precooled beverages and fruit and opened the lid 3-5 times a day. With the temp set at 34 degrees F we saw the indicator vary from 33-37 degrees. I kept a thermometer in the unit during that time and it was consistent with the Alpicool display. The Alpicool also has a handy iOS app that provides control thru Bluetooth that works well in the car so we can check/change the cooler on our phones when we are in the front and the cooler is in the back. Very handy. We are very impressed with this unit - and our prior experience is with a larger, very expensive Dometic that we used on our pilothouse boat. If considering a car cooler, I suggest using a quality compressor-based cooler and not a thermocouple device. For a slight premium you get better, more consistent performance with higher efficiency. We don't have experience with other "affordable" compressor-based coolers but this Alpicool compares favorably with the Dometic we had.

Works great for me
Worked out perfect for me so far. It's the perfect size for putting on the passenger's floor behind your seat. Lid works nice. Cools down pretty quick. Simple to use. Just a little loud in my opinion, but don't get the impression that it's overly loud. For some reason I would think it would be nearly whisper quiet and it's just not. Expectation vs reality issue. There's a fan that runs and you can hear it. Haven't had it long enough to speak on energy efficiency. One minor complaint that they put the electrical inlet on what I would consider to be the front side right by the switch panel/display. In a way maybe that's better because you'll notice and be able to plug it back in if it gets pulled out. However it puts a cord out there in front instead of hiding in my use case. Regardless I'm very happy with it right now.

As Good As Needed
If you do diligent research or have owned these types of fridges before, you'll know that they're all basically the same and all end up in a landfill within 5 years or less. I couldn't fathom spending nearly $1k on a Dometic when I know the basic parts are similar to this Alpicool I purchased on sale for less than $250. PROS: It works great keeping my food cold. Isn't that why we're buying a fridge? Quiet compressor. I can hear it, but it's not as loud as my house fridge. I like the app. Never thought I'd use it but it's convenient to turn fridge on/off from front seat using app as fridge sits in back of my minivan. Price. I can use the money I saved to buy actual food to put in it. Eco mode can be used to have compressor come on less often. Good option when using with portable solar battery pack when camping. Holds enough food for 1 or 2 people for an entire week of camping plus tall drinks. CONS: Not sure if this happens only in Eco mode but I can never get it to stay on the temp I set it to. It's always off by a few degrees. No biggie because you can offset that by playing with the numbers. For example if I want my food at 43ยฐ, I'll set it to 39ยฐ. Dumb wasted space in a top side compartment. What the heck is it for? A utensil holder? It doesn't get cold like the rest of the interior, so what's the point? The handles. Omg, the handles feel like they'll snap right off when lifting it fully loaded into your car. The tiny bit of condensation. I guess all fridges have it but it makes me wonder if the lid has an efficient enough seal. TIP: I attached thin mesh over the compressor vents. This helps reduce the amount of dust, dirt, and cat hairs getting sucked into the unit and possibly extending it past the warranty. OVERALL: This is a basic fridge that keeps food from spoiling using either the AC or DC plug it comes with. It works as intended so why pay more for the bigger name brands that won't last any longer? Any fridge under $300 should serve you just fine. No regrets on this purchase.

It does what its suppossed to
I bought this mini fridge fot an Off Road/ Overlanding trip I had with the sole purpose to keep the meat and ice cream frozen and the little compartment on the side to store my insuline and other meds during the entire trip and return home. It kept the meat frozen at temperatures setting of 28deg and set on ECONOMY MODE. The entire time 4 days total I had it plug to my vehicle 12volt plug and did not even put a dent on my truck battery. I mean 4 straight days 24hrs non stop. I normally parked the truck around 4pm and I won't move again until the morning the next day around 9:00am. But not the ice cream which sole purpose was to keep my sugars from droping or as a emergency supply for that purpose. The ice cream stayed soft and melt I don understand why and really didn't careIt much. It will freeze sodas or beers making direct contact with the internal walls of the fridge but not in the center of it, nor the bottom of the fridget, so be aware of that. Other than that it was magnificent and will definetly recommend it. I only wish I knew before hand that the bigger size is only like less than $50 more, Would definetly get the bigger one next. 2 Yr Update: This little fridge freeze everything if use as a freezer. I was anle to keep all camping meat and ice cream for 7 days frozen and the rest of the food and drinks which I kept on top cold. I like the size, it fit perfectly between the 2 fromt seats of my truck, Highly recommend this lil fella

Camping/comuter companion
Purchased in 2022 for off road camping trips. I loved the fact I no longer had to buy ice. Worked perfectly every time. I would put it eco mode and it was quiet enough that I could sleep just a couple feet away and not be disturbed by it running. The only caution I have is to make sure you have 8-10 inches of air flow as stated in the owners manual. It will not cool without that airflow. I now live in Florida and I never remove it from my Jeep. I use it when I go grocery shopping to keep frozen products cold between the store and home. I travel 3-4 days a week for work and I continue to use daily to keep my prepped meals handy. I have a Jeep Rubicon with a duel battery and it has never caused any battery drain issues. I actually purchased this discounted as a repackaged return and never thought I would get 2+ years out of it! Highly recommend!

Crazy lock feature and the cooler died before the 1 year mark.
*UPDATE* The cooler completely died today. For that kind of money, I just expected it to last longer. You can get one for half the cost and it'll last just as long. We are truckers and I had made meals to take. It's barely Wednesday and we started our Sunday night. So, all of our food spoiled because nobody even had ice. Do yourselves a favor and pass on this purchase. I think this fridge lasted us just over 6 months. I bought this for our semi and other travels. It's slim but holds a lot! I love the sleek, clean design. It's quiet and works well. The reason this only gets 3 stars: We open this up, load up the things for the truck and plug it into the wall before we take off. We immediately noticed the top display panel wasn't working. Hmm.... Ok we notice the other lights for the power, settings, temp control and lock ARE working but the lock symbol is on. Ok, on to the instructions. Hold the lock button for 3 seconds. Ok..... NOTHING. great. Unplug, and plug it back in. Nothing. Looking at videos, reading directions and nothing is helping. Customer service rep Paul to the rescue! UNPLUG IT AND PUSH THE LOCK BUTTON 10 TIMES. That's the secret. Tada. Why so complicated?? We downloaded the app but the cooler will not stay unlocked. You have to unlock it every time you want to change a setting. That's super annoying. We hate that. We love the cooler but that feature is ridiculous. I like the lock but for it to automatically lock is a pita. Also, this is a somewhat portable cooler. It's portable as long as you have your car. This does not work without being plugged in. We are using it for a cooler today for a picnic at the springs but it doesn't do much good because it's only portable if you have a power source however, you can put ice in it and there is a dragon plug at the bottom. Overall, I love this more than I hate that feature so I hope my review helps those who have the same issue with their Alpicool K18.

Works than quits after a year
I've bought this car freezer twice. When you get it works great however it seems after a year the product just stops working. So for all fellow truck drivers try to find something better. This does work for it seems a solid year.
