it's awesome! best little drone in the market!
I was quite surprised when i got this in the mail. having had no prior drone experience, i am quite pleased to state that this drone is a perfect purchase for a first time drone operator. It is so cool, not only is it super easy to control but the instructions are very comprehensive without being overwhelming. it's an easy set up and ur ready to fly: using the remote controller (AA batteries) or with the app. the battery lasts a good while- and it even comes with a second battery too. what's cool is the app is intuitive once you figure out to connect to the drone's wifi, and disconnect your own wifi. best bang for your buck

A fast racing-like drone at a fantastic price
I own the X300 and X500 and thought I'd give this a go. Once you get into flying drones, it seems like each drone has it's own purpose and feel. The X300 is a great entry level and the x500 is more of a pro-consumer level drone with features you find on the much more expensive DJI Mavic2. The X400 is snappy and fast! It's smaller and lighter so I recommend taking your first flight in low to no winds so you an adjust the trim. That's the process where if the drone is not hovering still when you let go of the joysticks, you can make micro adjustments while in flight so it will hover. It's the first thing I do when I take off on any given day on any drone. The drone has a setting where you can fly it faster which I recommend for thrilling racing fun once you get used to the flight characteristics. The x400 also has a really fun single button barrel roll trick feature. So you can fly around and barrel roll like a veteran trick pilot. It's quite fun and impressive! The drone comes with an extra battery so you can charge one while you fly the other. I use a quick charger battery pack and rotate batteries and my other 2 Syma drones. I fly it within line of site since it's a bit smaller than the X500. I highly recommend taking this drone for a spin....quite literally. You won't be disappointed. Check out the video attached so you can get an idea of the speed of this drone. And I'm not even flying on the fastest setting

Even the adults love it!
I recently purchased the Syma Mini Drone with a Camera for my kids, and it has been a great experience so far. The 720P Wifi FPV Quadcopter has a decent camera for its size, and it's very easy to control using the corresponding app. The drone is quite durable and has held up well after several crashes. One downside is that the battery life is relatively short, but that's to be expected with most drones of this size. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase and recommend this drone to anyone looking for an affordable and fun flying experience. Note: don't fly outside if it is a little windy.

AA Batteries and 5v charger is not included but still a fine toy to have!
I purchased the Syma 400x Mini Drone with the camera, and it’s a fun toy to play with friends and family. I’ve never operated a drone before, but running the mini drone is not bad once you get the hang of it. Either you can use the remote control that’s included, or you can use the Syma Fly App to control the device. You will need to have your wall charger. The mini drone comes with a charging cable but not a charger. You will also need four AA batteries for the remote control. It’s nifty because there is a camera on the front of the drone, and using the app, and you can take pictures and video of the surroundings. In my opinion, using the actual remote control was a little easier than using the app on my phone, but the controls are pretty much the same. I tried it inside my house (be careful not to bump into the walls as I did) and was able to take a video of the walls and some of my pets. I will provide an update once I try it outside. Overall, it’s a fun little device to play with, and I recommend it for adults and children alike.

Good beginner drone if you don't care about not having a camera....
I actually purchased 3 of these. I sent 2 of them to my nephews as a gift and purchased one for myself. I purchased these hoping that I would be able to use the cameras, but once mine arrived I realized that the app that this uses does not work. At least not for me. As soon as I launch the app it will tell me it's an outdated version and when I check for updates there are none. If you are purchasing this and the camera is the selling point for you I 100% would not recommend this to you. The software with this does not work. I even did like some have said and went directly to their website to download the newest app, but that gives me a "404 page does not exist." I am extremely disappointed with the fact that I bought 3 of these and the first one to come in doesn't work. I will continue to try and find a way to make the camera work, but if I cannot get it in the next day or two I will be returning all 3 of these and purchasing something else with better software. If anyone has any ideas how to get this app to work feel free to let me know.

Great Drone Great Price
The Syma X400 Drone is great for drone beginners. The box and packaging itself look great and the drone is plastered right on the front so that you know what you're getting when you purchase it. The package included 2 drone batteries (huge win!), an easy to understand remote, phone stand for that remote, charging cables, replacement rotors, rotor guards and of course an instruction manual. A quick read from the manual gave me the information I needed to get the drone off the ground straight from the box without needing to charge the batteries. I was able to fly it inside without causing any damage and only light bumping that the rotor guards had no problems with. I had to recalibrate some settings so that the drone wasn't moving while I was not moving it on the controller. The one key take off, altitude mode and headless modes are interesting settings to play with! The drone can hold a charge for about 6 minutes of flying time - which seemed accurate and had a charging time of 90 minutes via USB. This made it very convenient to basically be able to fly the drone whenever I wanted throughout the day and automatically landed when low. The camera and video quality is on the low end. It gives a live view to my phone via its own wifi which is great, but I am not sure if it hits the 720p as advertised and it is definitely not high definition. However, I expected this from a $60 drone as high quality camera equipment can cost thousands of dollars. The app(s) were confusing, you need to be connected to the drone via wifi and then turn on the app before being able to control or see anything. However once in the app the controls are straightforward and the camera interface is functional. All in all this x400 is a great beginner drone to LEARN with! If you want to get a feel for drone use before making a big purchase on something or teach an amateur how to fly one of these awesome pieces of technology then this is the one for you!

Controller fails to control drone - avoid
I'm a drone enthusiast and have a small collection of 12 drones of various sizes. Of all the drones in my collection, the Syma X400 is the only one that fails to follow controller input consistently. For me, the issue revealed itself right out of the box and made for a flight experience much worse than with any other drone I've flown. For beginners, there are many options in this price range and below that far exceed the performance of this model to include those made by trustworthy companies. I recommend to avoid purchasing this item at all costs, unless you have some other purpose in mind for the drone other than flying it.

Great Beginner Drone!
This is a great drone for beginners to use! It was super easy to set up and my 8 year old loves it! He was doing cool tricks with it including 360° flips in the air. Its very easy to control and comes with a booklet to help ypu learn all of the different controls. It comes with extra parts and even has TWO batteries and a camera on the drone itself. The camera quality is great for this type of drone and the recording option helped us get some fun videos! If your kiddos or even yourself is looking into a starter drone, don't hesitate to give this one a try!
