Great product, but what a pain in the a$$ to open and pour
The product is great! But it could use a little bit of packaging repackaging, if you know what I mean. The container is just too huge and bulky. It would be nice if it was maybe a little slender or slimmer, and in more of a cylindrical shape. That way it would fit into some kitchen cabinet spaces easier. Also, I get it, you have to buy them both to get a better discount. But this is just way too much oil for let's say a little old lady to pick up and pour into her deep fryer. The funny thing is that at warmer temperatures it tends to be more viscous and liquidy. But in colder temperatures, it's solidifies into white gelatin pretty much. The reason why I mention that is because I was tempted to pour this into a smaller container with the funnel, and use as needed. But then it's solidified and colder temperatures. So what to do?This is definitely one of the best refined coconut oils out there, because they used the steam process instead of using harsh chemicals like hexane to pull out a more refined product in the end.Note to the manufacturer, maybe there's some way you can do two smaller containers, and still give that bulk deal of the best bang for the buck in terms of price for the product?Oh, and one more thing, I'm still trying to figure out how the lid was supposed to be opened. There's a pull tab, but it doesn't go all the way around the tub in terms of making it easier to open. It's just too confusing, are you supposed to cut the notched plastic part or not? Is it supposed to pull apart on its own?I gave this five stars, but in reality it should have been more like five stars for the actual product inside, but two stars for the packaging. Lol.Manufacturer, help us out here! Make the containers smaller, just offer two containers at the same price for the same amount of product? Is that possible?

Healthier Oil to Deep Fry With (without the Coconut Aftertaste)
I was researching which type of oil would be healthier to use in our deep fryer since we haven't had much luck with the oil-free deep fryers we've tried. Coconut oil seemed to come out on top so I invested in a ton of virgin coconut oil without digging in to research much further. Well that was fine when I was trying things like shrimp or chicken and I didn't mind it having a bit of a coconut flavor. Anything else and it came out tasting quite gross. Then I researched further and realized if I wanted to deep fry without the coconut aftertaste I needed refined coconut oil and not virgin, but the method of refining mattered to keep the healthy aspects of the oil. This oil met all of my requirements and was actually a really good price. It's a high quality product and the burn temp is higher than that of virgin coconut oil as well. If you're looking for a healthier oil to deep fry with I highly recommend this product. It will give you the benefits of frying with coconut oil without the coconut aftertaste.

Great product as a substitute deep frying oil when cooking in the kitchen
Iโve read some of the reviews, and this is my first time purchasing this product that I want to use it in frying food and to get away from conventional oils. My container came un-damaged, full to the top, white in color, so no problem there. The one problem I did have is getting the lid off. Iโve worked in heavy industry all my life and Iโve opened a lot of plastic containers in my life and this one is at the top of being hard to open and I understand but I think there are other options available. Once I did finally get it off I took a pair of scissors and snippet up on the side till right below the O-ring grove 6 times . This allows me to open the lid vary easily and maintain the integrity and functionality of the O-ring. Iโm surprised that this was not mentioned in the comments I read. So for the first timers out their purchasing this product, getting the lid off is going to be a tuff one.

Grateful.
Good quality I appreciate the fact we even have stores let alone Amazon Prime I'd highly recommend. There are people that have no idea what it's like in the beginning no stores banks pharmacies hospitals gas station cars today they have this and take advantage of everything some of us us primes were here before stores pharmacies hospitals gas station cars were appreciate it let's hope they do Puerto Rico comes to mind. You could lose everything in the blink of an eye if you don't respect it. Amazon PRIME is a Prime system it'll be fine but they could cut people off if they wanted to. Just need the right eye and the right ear to make everything shift. Don't let anyone take advantage of you. Many anointings and consecrations to those at Amazon Prime may grandfather Thanatos keep you safe on the roads. We're from before AI before Gaia. Ring of the Magi protects your system.

Not taste
No coconut taste, only thing when your old it's really hard to open. Other then that I'm pleased with the oil. Worth it if you want something not out in the stores or are difficult to find in regular shops. I'm very pleased

Good stuff
I bought this to use for deep frying. I know frying is not terribly healthy, but I figure if I'm gonna fry, I might as well at least try to be as healthy as possible. From my research, coconut oil seems to be healthier than other oils, but do your own research just the same. The bucket is 'hard' sealed, meaning you have to break a thick 360 degree seal, or cut it open, which is nice because you know it hasn't been tampered with. The lid has an o-ring gasket; mine had absolutely no leaks from shipping; it was slightly liquid when I got it (probably from a warm UPS cargo truck). At about 75 degrees F. room temperature, it is solid like soft butter. I actually found that to be convenient, because I could spoon it into the fryer - no mess! There's no appreciable odor when cold or when it is in the fryer at 355 F. At my fryer's max temperature of 375, it did not smoke. At my cooking temp of 340, no smoke either obviously. It did not impart any flavor to food. I made Panko-breaded chicken strips, french fries, fried bananas, doughnuts (not at the same time haha!) All turned out excellent. The oil did not seem to degrade like normal vegetable or canola oil, and after several fryings, it still seems 'fresh.'

the best price around for organic coconut oil and was needed ...
Since I cook with coconut oil exclusively, I have been buying it in larger containers for a long time. However, this past holiday season brought on my experimenting with baking cookies with coconut oil instead of butter. This gallon container was, by far, the best price around for organic coconut oil and was needed considering the massive amounts of baking I do for the holidays. I thought, at first, I would miss the coconut flavor that I have grown accustom to, but it was an easy switch to the refined and unscented/unflavored oil.One note, if you want to bake with coconut oil. Add a couple tbsp of water for every cup of oil in your recipe. The first few batches of dough seemed more dry than usual and, unfortunately, my cookies turned out more crumbly (peanut butter blossoms/sugar cookie dough was harder to roll before adding water) and drier/crunchier when baked (choco chip, sugar, etc). After baking and not being happy with the results, I made subsequent batches with enough water to make the dough sticky and ball up as usual (as if cooking with butter). It made the difference and I, once again, had awesome soft and chewy cookies that turned out great. Another note if baking with it, leave the bucket close to your oven while it is on so the oil softens up. It is WAY easier to mush it into and scrape it out of the measuring cup when soft.

Very healthy oil for cooking
I am very happy with it. I have used this type of oil for many years. It is a very healthy oil. I eat it more than I would wear it. I fry and bake with it. It does not break down fast like other oils would if you deep fry with it.

I bought this product to make soap, trying out a new hobby. I have since found comparable products for a fraction of the price. Never again
