***TRUE STORY!!*** It was in Toronto in early 1993, and I was touring with Celine Dion then.This was during the time of the annual Juno Awards (Canada's Grammys) and both Celineand K.D. Lang, who I had admired since I first heard her amazing rendition of the Roy Orbisonclassic "Crying", the Patsy Cline classic "Two Cigarettes", and the song "Pulling Back The Reigns",were dominant nominees, along with Melissa Etheridge and her hot album "Come To My Window"!!A strange chain of events had led to the fact that K.D. Lang's back-up singers were detainedin the Vancouver airport and she was stuck without them for her Juno performance...a song entitled "Constant Craving".Well, she and her manager were running around backstage like chickens with theirheads cut off, when they chanced upon the dressing room of the Celine Dion band,and in particular, us, the Celine Dion back-up singers. (-:We were going through our usual clowning and vocal exercises all-in-one and theyheard our harmonies and thought we'd be a perfect fit for K.D. Lang's performance as well!So they go and ask Rene Angelil and Suzanne Gingue, overlords in Celine's camp,can they use their vocalists for K.D.'s performance that night as well, and they agreeif we are paid what her back-up singers would've made.This is how things go down in the entertainment industry sometimes...(backstage at the spur of the moment!)---Anywayz, our dressing room door swings openand here are Celine's inner circle as well as K.D's inner circle, asking us if we would comewith them to K.D.'s dressing room and meet with her M.D. (musical director),so we can learn the parts and rehearse for "Constant Craving".We do learn it and K.D. loves that we are quick studies and blend against her perfectly!She was so cool with absolutely no attitude or ego at all!I find that the REAL TALENTS are always like that though.Fast forward to the televised show and K.D.'s performance is before Celine's that night.So we wear different outfits in our wardrobe for K.D. than for Celine, and all goes fantastically!She recieves 2 or 3 Junos that year, and that song sticks in my head from that day to this!This CD, "INGENUE" was amazing in 1992/'93, and it still is amazing now!K.D. Lang's iconic voice weaves a delicious, soothing, poignant and sensual spellon songs from "Miss Chatelaine" to "Constant Craving" to "Wash Me Clean" to"Save Me" and others....it just haunts all the cells in your body!I bought this CD right after our performance that night in Torontoand still play it from time to time to this day, some 16 yrs later!I think that says everything that you need to know about this CD!If you don't have it, check it out and buy it! This is definitely not my usual style of music, but she is so spot on and dynamic I love the whole album. Great sound quality and a top notch orchestral backup. She can power up her voice like Patsy Cline used to, almost. It's my understanding that she did covers of Patsy in her earlier days.

Love this CD! My first review was one star because CD was badly damaged. I told the seller why I gave the review I did and he promptly sent me a replacement. It arrived in perfect condition.Would definitely buy and recommend this seller

10. Constant Craving を目当てに購入しました。全体の雰囲気はAORとJAZZボーカルの中間くらいで10. Constant Craving が最もポップな作りになっています。全体的には静かな落ち着いたアコースティックな感じで、じっくり聞かせます。前半は退屈なアルバムかと思いましたが、6. Still Thrives This Love あたりからボーカルがパワフルになってきて、7. Season Of Hollow Soul はなかなかの名作だと思います。力強い声は私を惹きつけて止みません。10. Constant Craving とオリンピックで歌った曲しか知らなかった私は普通のポップシンガーかと思っていましたが、どうしてどうして、ソウルフルなナイスボカリストです。

ラングの気品のある声は素晴らしいものです。アンニュイな曲の表情も好きです。

とても満足しています。引っ越しやらなにやらで10年程前から見つからないでいたのですが、やはり名盤でした。

コンスタントクレービングが好きなので、K.D.Lungに興味を持ち買いました。それ以外の曲はまずまずOKかな・・。コンスタントクレービングを上回る出来の曲はありませんでしたが、聞きやすいアルバムです。

This is a classic, it's absolutely fabulous.I ordered this for my mum as she accidentally deleted KD Lang in concert.She's thrilled with it.If you haven't heard it yet do give it a try, what an incredible vouce.
