Not like other kinetic sand! It’s extremely sticky! Won’t even come off with water. Have to use soap and water and scrub for it to come off! I should Have returned this! Will just get it from Walmart or target instead.

I bought this natural brown Kinetic Sand for my grandkids… and somehow I’m the one who can’t stop playing with it. At one point I realized I had already bought multiple packs—apparently, I have a “Kinetic Sand habit” now. First off, the color and appearance are spot on. The natural brown shade looks just like real wet beach sand, which makes playtime feel a little more realistic (minus the seagulls and sunburn). It has a smooth, slightly glossy look and holds its shape beautifully, whether you’re packing it into molds or just admiring your latest “sand masterpiece.” The texture is where the magic really happens. It’s incredibly soft and stretchy—almost like a cross between sand and putty. It holds firm when pressed together, then slowly crumbles in the most satisfying way when pulled apart. I came for the grandkids’ entertainment, but stayed for the oddly therapeutic squishing. Stress ball? Never heard of her. The kids love using molds, building castles, and turning the kitchen table into a full-on construction zone with their toy trucks. And the best part? It actually keeps them busy long enough for me to enjoy a hot cup of coffee without reheating it three times. That alone might be worth the price. Speaking of price—this is a great value for the money. You get a generous 3.25 lbs of sand, which is more than enough for multiple kids (and curious adults) to play together. I bought this Kinetic Sand for my toddler because we love sensory play, and it’s always been a hit in our house. It’s soft, easy to mold, and keeps my little one engaged for long stretches of time. That said, I did notice this batch had a stronger smell—almost like glue—and it felt a bit stickier compared to other Kinetic Sand we’ve purchased in the past. It still works fine and hasn’t been a problem for play, but it was different enough to notice. Overall, it’s still a great activity for creative play and fine motor skills, just with a slightly different texture and scent than I was expecting.

Sticks together too well! Compared to other kinetic sands we’ve had, this one just clumps together and you can’t really spread it out. Toddler has a hard time playing with it. Also smells very strong of glue and has coarser sand than others, though those aspects aren’t as much of a problem.

Kinetic Sand provides an enjoyable and relatively mess-free playtime indoors. The sand can be mezmorizing, even for adults, and holds the attention of kids who are normally like squirrels and jump from one thing to another. Kinetic Sand is unexpectedly soft and moldable, and doesn't have the texture of normal sand. It is more like soft putty versus actual sand and sticks together nicely. There are occasional stray pieces but they clean up much easier than Playdough. It does have a mild silicone smell, which I actually find uniquely intriguing and oddly pleasant. The joy of Kinetic Sand will make you want to rid your house of the dreadful Playdough. First, it is much more fun and tactile to mold in your hands. Most importantly, there is minimal mess with Kinetic Sand and it won't stick to anything. The stray chunks that make their way onto the floor are easy to clean up. Kinetic Sand also doesn't dry out like Playdough. This comes in a resealable bag but more for the purpose of keeping it safe versus preventing it from drying out. I feel like parents can actually walk away from kids playing with Kinetic Sand, versus having to watch every move when they use Playdough, and still finding chunks imbedded in carpet. The 3.25 pounds of Kinetic Sand in this bag was plenty to sit around the table with four people (two kids, two adults). Our three year old enjoyed using his diggers and dozers to make a construction site with the Kinetic Sand, and the sand never stuck to any of the toys. This Kinetic Sand is a five star product and holds the attention of most kids (and adults) for hours, with minimal mess and easy clean up.

I bought this because the knock off brand I originally bought wasn't sticking together as much as I was hoping and sand was getting everywhere. I was really excited about getting the same thing but actually have it hold together so our two year old could build stuff. On the plus side, this does stick together very well. However, this sand is a lot darker, incredibly course and has a pretty strong chemical odor, like super glue. The knock off sand is fine like play sand and feels amazing in your hand. This stuff feels awful in comparison and it doesn't have the same flow/drip as the knock off sand I bought. As expensive as it is I'm definitely left disappointed. If it wasn't for how well it sticks together and how much I hate cleaning up tiny grains of sand from everywhere I'd probably return it.
