I actually WANTED to write this review as both my guests and I are thrilled with this replacement mattress! I have a couch that is functionally and aesthetically fine but is 29 years old! The original spring mattress was okay for its time, but over the 29 years had lost its "spring" and padding which led to feeling the cross bars more so in the couch and pretty much unable to use the sleeper pull out. We did not use this pull out for years and then with a lot of company coming, we figured we ought to try the pull out....it was NOT until recently when we thought about using this pull out again if we could find a replacement mattress for it...and with research, we came across this one! It is well described in the write up and I measured the thickness of our old spring mattress and ordered the 4 inch thick, queen size pull out replacement mattress....I was concerned that maybe it would not fold back in....but it DOES fit perfectly and actually gives the couch a more firm seating as well. The ONLY thing, and it is not major at all, is that it is harder to pull out as the mattress is heavier than the orginal...but we have two people pull it out to make it easier....one person can do it, but we just have two of us pull it out to just be easier. Our guests said they did NOT feel the bars and we also tested it out and it is a very comfortable mattress and really you don't feel the cross bars. I did order the foldable back board, but truly, you don't need it.....it might give a bit more support for a firmer feel, but you don't need it with this mattress unless you want to make double sure no one feels the bars or you want a firmer mattress feel! We could NOT be more thrilled with this purchase...we now can use our 29 year old couch which hasn't been slept on in over 10 years.....with this new mattress, it gives us a lot of opportunity to have multiple guests visit and stay!

This is a blessing, my daughter came to visit and complained about the matress in the sofa bed, she said it felt like sleeping in a Chinese prison camp... Not to sure what that means but okay... So I laid down on the matress and felt every single coil and metal bar on the sofa bed and said it's time to look for a new mattress. Not many options for mattresses for a sofa bed, I saw this and decided to take a chance but was concerned about it really fitting when trying to close the bed. Also I was concerned because of the price and didn't want to waste money or go through the headache of trying to return this thing if it didn't work. However, it turned out to be a blessing, this thing is so comfortable, it closes without issues, no more feeling the metal bars, my daughter loves it, and it also makes the sofa more comfortable to sit on when it's closed. When setting up, it says leave out for 24 hours to fully expand, but from my experience with these type of mattresses it's best to leave out longer to fully expand to avoid any sagging after laying on it. I left it for three days and each day I kept checking it and by the 3rd day it was fully raised and expanded. Trust me, let it expand completely. There was no smell like others have mentioned, this mattress was more than Worth it. Don't think about it, get it! Your guests will thank you

So much better than the bag of coils that came with my pullout coach! I bought a pullout bed couch for company that would be visiting fairly regularly and the mattress with the couch was horrible. This mattress is comfortable and well made. There is no smell. Give decent support for being a thin mattress and I slept fairly well on it. Definitely recommend

I am always very skeptical of reviews on Amazon but I decided to try this mattress for my new sleeper sofa and I'm glad I looked into it and weighed out my options. This sofa mattress is incredibly comfortable. I sleep on a Sleep Number bed and this mattress is just as good! Looks are deceiving as it is a 4in to 4.5in mattress and kind of looks like a standard pillow top. It came coiled up in a box and it was "space packed" aka suctioned to be as flat as possible. It was easy to remove from the packaging and the plastic wrapping it came in. I laid it out for the night and it grew to its full size. People have complained about the odor but to me it smells like the plastic it came in, pretty standard for most things. I'd say that within 3 hours it was fully expanded and by 10 hours there was no more plastic odor. I am very happy with this as it is quite affordable. Some of the "top line" sleeper mattresses are at least $300-$500 and this one was half the price and of equal standard. You can't feel the sleeper base at all as the foam is very dense and even rolling around on it, it keeps a good shape. The memory foam springs back very quickly and helps relieve pressure on your butt and spine. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who is skeptical about the reviews and is looking for a comfortable and affordable option for their sleeper sofa.

We originally had air bed mattress for our fold out sofa in our Travel Trailer. When the air bed split and was useless we went looking of alternatives and luckily with found this very high quality 4" mattress. It worked great for our application because we can simply fold it in have and store it behind the sofa when not using it. With our type sofa cannot leave it on the sofa then fold the sofa back up. On some home sofas you might be able to to do that. People commented on odor: I did not not notice any odor with this mattress upon opening it up. I had a foam mattress topper once that required you let it air out a few days before using it. Not with this mattress. These foam mattresses are compressed by a machine to about 50% of their size and vacuum sealed in plastic when you receive it so it will fit in a smaller shipping compartment. When I removed it from the shrink wrap I put it on our bed in the trailer and let it fully expand for a couple days. No problems at all. One person complained in the reviews that it would not fit back in the original carton. Now you know why. None of them, toppers or mattresses with go back into the original carton for the reason stated above. Only word of warning for some people; this mattress is quite HEAVY. So if you constantly have to lug it around that might get tiresome. If you only need to move it occasionally, then you'll be fine. Overall very happy.

The mattress is 3 inches not 4! On November 3, 2021 I sent Dynasty Mattress' customer service: "I do not see an option to contact you through Amazon. Based on your description, the mattress is listed as 4" thick. When I opened the vacuum sealed packaged, it was only 3", even after letting expand for several hours. It is my belief the item is faulty. The issue is however, even though the shipping is covered, the opened item no longer fits into the original box and UPS wants to charge $80 for the oversized item. Given that the product is not as described, I request you reimburse me for the item without return of product, as I don't think there is a way for you to reimburse me the $80. Please let me know of the resolution soonest." Dynasty Mattress' customer service replied a few hours later and asked for my Amazon order number and photos of the mattress with visual measurements. I promptly replied with the order number and images. On November 5, November 9 and November 11, 2021 I followed up with Dynasty Mattress' customer service and did not receive a response. On November 12, 2021, after contacting them four times, Dynasty Mattress' customer service replied: "Your order appears to be an Amazon fulfilled order. Please contact Amazon customer service. Thank you." This has been a very disappointing customer service experience. The mattress is not as advertised and Dynasty Mattress will not take responsibility for a return or refund and Amazon directed me to Dynasty Mattress. Buyer Beware. If Dynasty Mattress or Amazon is willing to resolve this issue I would be very appreciative.

Perfect fit, very comfortable, very good quality construction. I highly recommend it! It has the right degree of softness. Price is very fair. It has low material odor--and what odor exists is pleasant. As others point out, let it sit in a fully unfolded state for a few hours so that the mattress expands and the creases smoothed out. Be sure to remove the packing plastic so that material odors are allowed to escape the mattress. I didn't experience feeling the cross-bar (I'm only 148 lbs), but if you do, it isn't the fault of the mattress but, rather, is inherent problem in sofa beds. Solution: You can temporarily place folded up blankets or similar to build up the sagging region either side of the bar.

This is more like a mattress topper than a sleeper. It worked well I suppose folding up into the couch but was not very comfortable and I could feel the metal underneath the mattress. But wayyyy better than what we were dealing with before which was nothing!!
