We got this from Amazon for a song during the Chistmas season on one of their big sale days. It was worth two times what we paid for it!! It has been a huge hit with both our children - a boy, aged 18 months (for whom it was bought) and a girl, nearly 3 years old. The triangle is hands-down the favorite instrument. We have had multiple "concerts" since then (of course, the grandparents think that's adorable). To those who are offended by noisy toys - don't buy this set. They are instruments intended for toddlers and preschoolers. Of COURSE they are going to be noisy. Cymbals, tambourine, triangle, maracas, clacker - YES, it's makes for a lot of noise. But that's the whole point!! Also, for those demanding high-quality instruments that produce concert hall sound, don't buy this set. Again, I reiterate that this set is intended for the very young and musically interested. It is great fun. And it is perfect as a starter set. I see my children using it for some time. We have a plastic set of similar instruments from last Christmas that will now be retired as this has taken its place. My only gripe is that the string for the triangle slips off very easily and can be lost. That, of course, adversely affects how the instrument can be played as well as its sound. But otherwise, A+ in our household on all levels.

I've got a 15-month old who just loves music and is always clapping her hands. The minute we opened this toy, she immediately took to the cymbals. My wife turned the sturdy box they came in upside down so that she could beat on the box if she wanted. My daughter had a better idea... she'd climb up on top of it like her little stage and crash her cymbals like some major domo, marching in step at that! We all love playing with these very durable toys. This and things to draw with are the best toys, because kids don't seem to burn out with them the way they do with one-trick pony toys. Anyway, I'm very pleased with this and the great value it represents for the price. I'll be giving this as a gift to my friends' kids. You can never have the perfect toy, but as long as they've come so close with this, I might as well ask Melissa and Doug if they would verify for us parents that the paint used in these does not contain lead -- they are from China and the bright yellows and reds are the ones that more often contain lead. The only other thing is to know whether the wood was sustainably harvested and did not come from clearcutting trees (in Borneo or something and sent to China for processing).

This is my go to gift for 1 and 2 year old birthday parties! Always a hit.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my two-year old (much to the dismay of my husband), and she has enjoyed it thoroughly. All of the instruments have been very durable and make great toys for rainy days or for playing along with music on the radio or TV. My daughter sings, dances, and plays to her own made-up tunes regularly, and the storage box keeps everything tidy. The instruments and box are almost all solid wood and metal, and I believe that they will last for years. The only thing that I would improve would be to have a lid for the storage box. We keep the box on a shelf in her room, and if she doesn't pull it out for several days, everything gets dusty. Also, the green plastic grass (similar to astro-turf) in the bottom of the box isn't attached to the box in any way, and it often gets left under the sofa or a bed even when the instruments are put away. I'm not really sure what its purpose is (other than to keep all of the instruments in place during shipping), but my daughter won't let me get rid of it. If it weren't for those two issues (which most people would probably not see as issues at all), I would give this toy five stars. I have been consistently pleased with Melissa and Doug purchases and this one is no exception.

Es ideal para los niños, lis materiales son buenos y suenan bastante bien para ser de juguete. Los uso con mi hija de año y medio pero bajo supervision, se los saco en momentos concretos y tocamos las dos los instrumentos luego los guardo porque es muy pequeña todavía, pero le encantan las maracas. Conociendi el producto creo que para bebés de esta edad es mejor unas maracas de plástico, mas ligeras y que no se descarcarillen cuando las tiran sl suelo o se les caen. Los platillos muy bien, los toca ella solita y la pandereta también.

Lo pedí para regalo de una niña de 2 años. Le encantó. Todo en madera incluida su cajita para guardarlos. Resistentes y muy bonitos. Ideal para iniciar a los pequeños en estimulacion musical.

Unser Sohn wird es zu Weihnachten bekommen und ich habe es vorab ausgepackt um mir die Artikel anzusehen. Einige Holzelemente haben etwas abgeplatzte Farbe, was aber nicht weiter auffällt. Sonst sind die Teile wirklich gut verarbeitet und ich finde jedes einzelne hat einen guten Klang. Das die Rasseln zu leise sind kann ich nicht bestätigen und auch die Triangel macht einen angenehmen Klang (soweit ich das als Laie beurteilen kann) Ich würde das Set so wieder kaufen und auch weiter empfehlen. reasonably priced for a variety of items however all the metal parts have sharp edges. would recommend adult supervision everytime your child plays with it. Average quality for the price.
