Would buy again
My sister has one that shes had for a year now and recommended it to me. I had seen other people having issues with the water catchment jug fitting properly and although it isnโt ideal how it fits I am having no leaking issues that others seemed to have. I tried it with the jug lid regularly and inverted (as others recommended) and both ways worked just fine. Honestly for the price I am very happy with it and since no leaking issues I will give it a full 5 stars. Its easy to use, great instruction, seems durable and filter time (4 hours per jug) work perfect for me.

Works well for nine months now
WATER DISTILLER DAILY MAINTENANCE To use this: you should filter the water that you want to distill first with a Brita machine or similar, they have those on Amazon. That will make this unit have to do less work, be easier to clean, and the unit will last longer. Fill the distiller with filtered water up to the 1 gallon mark on the inside of the distiller wall. With cool water it takes about 3 hours to distill most of 1 gallon of water. Before starting the distiller get a timer ready to count down the 3 hours and start it immediately before starting the distiller. Turn the distiller off immediately at the end of the 3 hours to avoid boiling the water down to empty. The directions are clear(ish) on how to use, but not so much to clean. If you don't clean after each use, it will be less effective, the mineral scum at the bottom will keep the heat away from the water, and eventually the unit won't work, and the residue will be too thick to use the unit, and too hard to clean. To CLEAN: After each use, disconnect all the plugs and let unit sit. It takes at least an hour to cool. Then remove the top section. Pour the remaining water residue out and then scrub the distiller a couple of minutes with a plastic scrub pad and tap water. Pour that water out. I put about 3 teaspoons of citric acid crystals, some of which are included with the distiller, in a quart of distilled water and pour that into the distiller and cover it with a plate or some cover, let it sit 2 or 3 days, then pour the used citric acid solution into a container for storage. Rinse well with tap water and scrub lightly with a plastic scrub pad. Pour that water out. The cleaning product provided with the unit works great at removing mineral deposits. If the stains are stubborn, put 3 inches of water and citric acid, plug it in without a lid, and boil it for 30 mins. Rinse well with water or mild detergent. If you can't wait 2 or 3 days you might try this method to clean the distiller. I change the inexpensive activated charcoal filter 3x a year, mark it on the calendar. Removing the metal clip where the charcoal sits is not intuitive, but once you know how, it's easy. Don't force it. Just gently wiggle the metal clip back and forth while gently pulling the clip away from the distiller.

This distiller is perfect for my needs.
Iโve had it for 5 days and have processed 7 gallons of distilled water taking about 4 hours for each gallon. I didnโt care for the included jug idea because when the process was complete I then had to get out a funnel and pour it into a gallon jug. I eliminated this step by running 3/8โ OD ยผโ ID clear plastic tubing (Farm Fleet) from the spigot to my water jug. I drilled a 3/8โ hole in a jug lid so the tube would stay put. Also a smaller hole for air to vent as the jug fills. **** OK **** this may not work for everyoneโs needs because of the plastic tubing touching the water. I ONLY use my water for my humidifier and diffusers. If you do this be sure to heat the end of the tubing up with hot water so it goes on the spigot easier. The spigot area seems like it could be easily damaged when pushing to get the tube on. This isnโt an intended modification for this product work gently. Things to note: The fan does sound like a microwave, fairly loud. I run mine in the kitchen so from the other rooms you canโt hear it. The fan is pushing out air that I have measured at 117 degrees F. This is perfect for Midwest winters distilled water and a little extra heat. After auto shut off be sure to let it cool down before disassembling!! If you open it too soon it will blow out a large plume steam and it is HOT! I know as I got over anxious once but never ever again. I have not used the I have cleaned mine after every gallon by adding enough vinegar to cover the bottom. I havenโt really had to let it soak I just use a silicone sponge on the entire inside then rinse well. Be sure to check and clean the top. There is a very little build up of minerals on the bottom. Iโm sure a person could do a few gallons before a cleaning. For me itโs easy, itโs in the kitchen, I just do it each time. Hoping that it will last for a couple years. At least 96 gallons so it pays for itself. This distiller does exactly what it supposed to do. Very simple to use. I was paying a buck a gallon at the store so this will save some money and not having to haul 10 gallons out of the store to home each week. I am very pleased with this purchase no regrets at all.

Gets the job doneโcleaning tips, complaints, comments
I bought this so I wouldnโt have to buy, lug, and store gallons upon gallons of distilled water in my apartment to run the humidifier I use to keep my guitar from drying out and cracking in thecwinter air. This distiller works like a charm, so 4 stars. 1 star off because I do have a list of complaints: - I have very hard city water. The amount of junk left over in the metal tub after a cycle is shocking. It bakes on (stinks!) and is impossible to wipe off. Better than spewing it all into the air via humidifier though. - The cleaning process is both easier and harder than it looks. It ships with a bottle of citric acid crystals. Go ahead and order yourself a bulk 2 pound bag or two of those things, youโll need them. Throw 3 or 4 tablespoons of crystals into a fully filled distiller tub, and run a cycle with the top off. The scale will disappear in about 30-40 minutes, no muss no fuss. I like to poke at the scale now and again with a spatula while this is going on, but Iโm a neurotic overachiever. It is NOT clear or easy how (or whether?) to clean the top part with the coils and fan. Do these need to be unscrewed, taken apart, cleaned, reassembled? Who knows?? - This thing uses a lot of electricity and puts out a lot of heat. I ran it about 15 times and my power bill jumped $9 for the month (from $50 to $59, so it was noticeable). That could be because winter and price increase, or distiller use. Canโt tell yet. It does release a LOT of heat. I run it in my bathroom and it makes the room into a sauna. Great for winter! Toasty tile floor! Thatโs not great energy efficiency though. - Itโs loud! I run it in the bathroom so I can close the door. If I ran it in my apt kitchen I would not be able to hear anything else, itโs about as loud as the over-stove fan set on low. - If you have long hair and run this thing on the floor, FOR THE LOVE OF CTHULU hold your hair back when you turn this thing on. The fan on top WANTS to grab your hair. You will cry. Over all, this thing does the job and even with my list of complaints and increase in electricity bill, itโs nice having distilled water on demand instead of having to go to the store and put more plastic jugs in the recycle bin where they probably wonโt be recycled anyway. And even with that $9 jump in power bill, for at least 15 gallons worth of water itโs half the price of store bought.

Quiet fan tank fills up in timely manner. Work the buy!!!
First, I am absolutely in love with this product. I recommend you read the manual before you even try to use it to get an understanding of it first. The fan is not loud at all, though you do hear it if you focus on it and I have ADHD so the fact that it doesnโt bother me says a lot. There was a leak, but it came from where the water drips out of the machine into the bucket and all you have to do is position it to where it wonโt do that so itโs not worth not buying the product. Itโs still a great product. It does cut off by itself. You have to fill it up to the fill line and it fills up the container. It comes with exactly and itโll cut off by itself. NOW LETโS NOTE THATโS ONLY THE RESET BUTTON THAT TURNS OFF YOU STILL HAVE TO PUSH THE ON OFF SWITCH IN THE BACK AND TURN IT OFF!!! the tank fills in a very decent amount of time. I have actually just tried the water from the second batch and it taste great. The manual does mention to not drink out of the first round of water because the machine is fresh so thatโs probably where the comments about the metal tastes come from but I just drank the second batch and it taste fine. Definitely try this product out I am going to try to upload a picture on my review, but for some reason itโs not letting me so more than likely there wonโt be one so I tried to put as much detail as I could into my writing and I hope this helps somebody to make a decision on this product.

Pure Water Made Easy
We LOVE this distiller! A terrific for price for the quality. Sturdy unit and easy to assemble. Highly recommended. Inconceivable is the amount of sludge that is hidden in your tap water. A clogged clothes iron spewing junk on my dress shirts prompted clean water research and decisions. Go see EWG tap water database website to check the water in your zip code. Educate yourself. Hands-down! Distilled is the ONLY pure water. And you realize this immediately. Clean, odorless pure H2O. Nothing else. This unit is 100% plastic-free. Water touches stainless steel and glass. No plastic! No BPA, fluoride, chlorine, hexavalent chromium (look it up). This is not an instant process, it takes around three hours per gallon. You read that right - 3 hrs/gal. Totally worth it. The difference in morning coffee aloneโฆ After the water boils off, the sludge left over at the bottom of the basin is a partially cooked mixture of the toxic chemicals that go into your body - a list too long for this venue. But the odor of the remnants alone reminds why steps need to be taken for your health. Pic 1 - sludge seeping from clothes iron Pic 2 - hard minerals and chemicals from iron Pic 3 - sludge left over from distilling session

Has quirks, once you figure them out it works great.
The distiller had a slight learning curve to it. Second batch in, the metal cap that fits on the jug caused the water to run down the outside and pool in the tray we had the unit in. Once we removed the metal nozzle guide, raised both the jug and distiller up so that the distiller nozzle fits into the mouth of the jug we have had no more issues. The On/Off switch is really nice. Way better than relying on the unit to trip due to heat. Things we have learned to do when using, 1. Do not let it run empty. When the tank runs dry, it trips the reset button to turn off. This causes the sediment in the tank to burn to the tank, makes it way more difficult to remove and potentially ruining the tank. 2. Set a timer. We have a 3 hour 35 minute timer set. 3 hours and 15 minutes for the distilling process and 20 minutes for a cooldown so we can refill. We start the timer as soon as the unit is turned on. This leave the bottom covered with a small amount of water. 3. Ditch the metal nozzle guide that goes on the jug. Make your setup so that the distiller nozzle dumps right into the jug. If you have a tray to set it in, elevate both the unit and the jug. This way if the tray fills with water it wont get into the bottom of the unit and ruin the electronics. 4. Clean, clean, clean. We clean the tank every third batch. Get a big bag of food grade citric acid. When the last batch is done put some citric acid in the tank while the leftover water is still hot. This will make the tank come clean easier. The photos are from about 15 batches run through the unit with a water hardness of 300ppm from the tap. 5. When removing the tank top, grab the back side where the cord is and tilt it open from the back to the front. This will keep the water from running down the back of the unit and into the cord holes. 6. This does cast more per gallon than just buying it from the store, $1.37 @ store, $2.60 @ home, but we don't have all the jugs to throw away and boxes to recycle or making trips to the store to buy water. This unit pulls 760w at 6.3 amps. We are able to run it and the coffee pot at the same time with no issues. It is a tad loud but its no more louder than the air purifier we have running. The hot air that comes from the top is a plus now that it is winter time, summer shouldn't be too much of an issue since it will not get used that often, just to make jugs for the coffee maker.

The drip system needs some tweaking.
Let me start with the tweaking that the drip system needs first then the other good stuff to follow. The metal โdrip funnelโ it comes with is where the leaking issue is. The โdrip funnelโ just sits on top of the container opening so there is no seal around the rim. This starts out ok until the machine gets going then the water starts to go under the โdrip funnelโ and the pool of water is discovered and grumbling begins! Luckily I didnโt leave the machine unattended so I was able to catch the issue before I had a gallon of water everywhere. My fix was to attach a silicone straw to the drip outlet and put the straw in the gallon container. It works great! Now the good stuff! The machine is easy to set up. It does have a on/off switch as well as a reset switch. First turn on the on/off switch then press the reset switch to start the distilling process. The distilling process does take awhile and if youโre looking to drink this right away the instructions state to not drink the first gallon of water. My guess is that this is due to not wetting the carbon filter first. Most filters need to have water run through them till they run clear before drinking it. Iโm sure if that was done the water could be drunk. Otherwise itโs 8 hours till a glass of water. It does blow out hot air and gets hot around the outside of the machine. Not so hot that it canโt be touched but enough that using it in an open area is better. I wonโt be drinking this water, because it will be getting used in humidifiers and C-pap machines, so I canโt speak to the taste of it. The amount it makes is perfect so itโs easy to pour into the small C-pap container and not be too heavy. It was easy to clean. I didnโt use the cleaner till after I made 4 gallons. I just wiped out the inside after it cooled down and let it air dry. The cleaner worked really well getting the little amount of hard water build up that was there. So far itโs holding up well. I do have the plastic container instead of the glass just because I wonโt be drinking it and the plastic is more user friendly for my needs. Just need 44 more gallons till it pays for itself ๐

Pleased so far
I purchased the unit because I have a CPAP and didn't want to lug around jugs from stores to home. Easy to set up, easy to use, and not loud. Totally worth the money.

Unit not heating
I have used more expensive water distillers of the same size and general look that have heated to a very high temperature such that when the water drips out of the spout it is very hot. This unit simply was warm to the touch on the outside container when dispensing the water - though the water drops coming out were cool, and not hot whatsoever.

Short Operating Life - 4 months
Received December 10 2024. The steel 304 bottom, food grade steel, began to stain within first month and continued to become degraded until April 22 2025, when my sprout seeds failed to sprout using distilled water from the distiller. Also crock of sauerkraut fermenting turned to mush. I bought this last November, delivered December 10 2024. Shortest life of any distillers. All distillers made with 304 steel (food grade) may not last one year. Vendor ignoring request for replacement or refund. There listed email address returns mail as undeliverable. Would not buy from them again.
