I use these for external SSD drive enclosures, when I am doing a big job like cloning a drive or doing a big backup. My enclosure is aluminum, and the shape of these is perfect. They came as a pair, so sometimes I put one under and one over the enclosure. You could also put them next to each other for cooling something bigger. It is a nice set to have for a variety of uses. I guess most people will be putting them inside a larger desktop computer and they look like they would work well for that too. They have a smooth surface on the contact-side.

stick this to my external NVME enclosure and keep the drive cool. The finish can be better and the heatsink I received is dented, doesn't affect the performance though.

For my particular use, this product performed exceptionally well. Computer servers for my work at home are located in the room where I spend 90% of my waking hours. In the winter time, this seperately heated room has had amazing efficiency in making the waste heat from these devices useful. In the summer, i relocate the sevices to an unheated/cooled room on the other side of the wall where they lower the temp of the devicce. Again, for me, this product has been an wild success.

These work really well for the hot running load resistors used when retro-fitting LED lamps for incandescent ones in automotive applications. Usually you need these to stop hyper-flashing in vehicles that are in that awkward "too new to simply replace the turn signal relay," but not new enough or the computer can't be re-configured to turn off hyper-flashing if it can't "detect" a bulb. Generally you're supposed to mount the resistors to metal surface to dissipate heat - but often there isn't a good place. The load resistors get hot enough to discolor paint, plus self tapping screws to the inside of a body panel are probably not the aesthetic you're going for unless you like burning hot screw spikes protruding from your car. So these heatsinks will do the trick if you at least have some open space elsewhere (say a trunk or open area under the hood behind your running lights) but it's awkward or there just isn't a way to get mounted to a hidden frame rail or something.

I have been using 4 of these to cool down a hot running StarTech Thunderbolt, they work a treat The reason for the hot running is 2*240hz gaming monitors connected to an MSI Gamer PC. The heatsinks do a great job. It takes 4 of these to cover the top of the thunderbolt.

別に見えないところで使うから良いんだけど、傷だらけ。どんな管理してるんだ？ フィンの間にゴミとか無いから星一つにしといてあげよう。 ゴミとか溜まってたら即返品ですな。 後日談（使用後） 使ってみて、ちゃんと放熱はしている。なので星1から4へ昇格。 サーマルパッドは忘れずに。 見てくれさえ気にしなければ、充分に放熱はしてくれるみたいだ。 ヒートシンクに触れればアチチな状態なので。 使用用途は植物育成ライトLEDパネルのAC/DCのアダプター部分。 かなり高熱を発するのでこれを使用。見てくれ以外は満足。

Don’t know if they’re helping or not, but I bought them to dissipate heat from an NVME drive and they certainly get warm. I have one placed on the desk with the drive on top and then another on top of that so that they are sandwiching them. Perhaps the drive didn’t need anything, but I’ve used these with it and have had no problems with the drive working flawlessly. Very happy.
