My truck is t my daily driver and so it can sit for a week sometimes 2 without being driven. Especially in winter this will cause problems with the battery being dead. I have this panel attached to the grill and fused at the battery and I leave it plugged in 24/7 and I haven't had a problem since. All vehicles should have a trickle charger built in...

immediately powered up and kicked out 15-16 volts unloaded, in rainy/cloudy weather no less. Connected it to the battery and the trickle charge was enough to power the car back up to the threshold for the key fob to work again after less than an hour. Battery obviously has issues and we plan to get a new one tomorrow, and plan to keep this solar trickle charger hooked up help offset some minor parasitic drain. I see some reviews expecting this to charge a dead battery....but that's never going to happen with a panel this small, and it clearly tells you that before you buy it. It's only meant to keep a healthy battery topped up, not bring and unhealthy one back from the grave. Most of the neg reviews are just people who didn't read.

The 10w solar battery charger I received had a flaw in the car power connection that plugs into the 12v cigar/accessory jack. Even though the red LED light is on there was no voltage at the end of the plug. When I disconnected the plug and measured right from the solar panel it provided the 18+ volts which explains why the red LED was on. But there was 0v at the output side of the 12v car plug. The plug contains a fuse and the fuse was good, and I found a bad connection to the end of the plug which I was able to repair. So when I originally thought the panel was providing a charge because the red LED was on, in actuality no voltage was getting to the 12v accessory plug output side. Once I fixed it, the system works correctly. I think some of the bad reviews may be because quality control apparently does not check if voltage is actually getting to the end of the plug.

Installed easily. Very flexible. Just used sheet metal screws for the install. Cut the wires to hard wire it to the battery. Added a 1 amp fuse. Hoping for the best. Battery is only there for the jack.

I care so this product is what I was looking for the descriptions are perfect. It’s very portable. It’s very compatible for my car. I’m always concerned in case I park one of my vehicles for a long time that the battery is maintained and it’s a good power source because it’s free installation is easy. You have different ways. You can install it depending on your need and the value for the money I shopped around on Amazon and this one works for me the most because of all the things that they provided and the cost point.

FIRE DANGER!!!!!!! DO NOT BUY!!!! CAUGHT ON FIRE!!!! I purchased several of these to keep batteries charged on some of our equipment that we dont use often. One of these solar chargers today caught on fire, the wire insulation melted and shorted out and there was a small electrical fire between my battery and fuel tank on our trailer. We caught it in time but this could have been a major catastrophic with 15 gallons of fuel inches away. I am throwing out the ones i have on other trailers and a new one still in the box.

Im a trucker and my car battery kept going dead cause I only drive it once a month. This thing does exactly what its supposed to. Evan charged my dead battery(over a few days).

I've been using this about 1-2 times per month when my vehicle is parked while I've had to fly out of town. After a week (+/- a day or two) I'll come back to a pre-start voltage reading of 11.8-11.9-12.0V. I've not used the battery maintainer 2-3 times just to see if there's a difference, and I'll get the same pre-start voltage readings (11.8-11.9-12.0V) that I would if it had been hooked up. I've tried different locations where the panel should get unobstructed sunlight, even putting it in the sunroof so it will get full exposure for the duration of the day. The fact that I'm consistently getting low pre-start voltage readings regardless whether I use the battery maintainer makes me think it's just not working. Unfortunately there's no way to hook up a multimeter to this thing and see what kind of output (if any) it's producing. I'll more than likely end up getting another different brand solar panel battery maintainer to try as a comparison to this one. I'm being optimistic right now in giving this 3-stars, but if it turns out another solar battery maintainer gives me higher pre-start voltage readings then this review will get edited to 1-star.

ok, bought this after getting confused about which one to buy. I can only say it works great, my battery kept running flat from lack of use of vehicle after having a accident I don't get to drive very often. well packaged, suckers work great to fix to window, used crocodile clips to battery, my concern was how do you know it's charging? without testing equipment the only way to tell is trying to start the car after a length of time and if it starts it works. I can only add it does work and one way of knowing is the note or pitch of the starter motor when you turn the key, it sounds lively and healthy not dull and sluggish, i've even drove the car and left the clips charging while driving. hope this helps, 10 watt seems to do the trick as I was worried it any lower wouldn't be up to the job. my rear window gets plenty of light all day.
