Not omnidirectional lens best viewed straight on like flashlight.
This flasher us well built and durable it can be used in the water although I have not talked to any great depth with it. It is designed as a flasher and not as a strobe the lens is not Omni directional and can be best viewed from straight on as if it were a flashlight. Overall this is a good product I am not sure that it meets the threshold of good for the price. I would have given it 5 stars were it not for the directional nature of the lens the Flasher is not very bright when viewed from the side or any angle other than straight on

I can't see it blink
Great product, but I can't see it blink when it's on.Yes, that is a joke. Well priced for what you're getting, which is a basic marker beacon and cheaper, more durable, and more available than some of the military design derivatives.

Works great with Pvs-14
These work good for what they are. I used these on my dog,and viewed through my Pvs-14. When I night shoot,I can cleary see him and can shoot safely. These are not made for security systems. So the people complaining about brightness on their home security, maybe buy the right product to begin. That would be a start.

Not bright enough for IR security camera.
I bought this to replace my issued Phoenix Jr by Cejay Engineering, that you have you attach or remove the battery to turn on or off. When I received the Pelican IR Beacon, I was immediately disappointed by the barely noticeable flash. I am judging this by the IR sensors on a high-end security camera. I do not know how well it shows up on a FLIR camera. So this review is only pertinent to the type of IR sensors found in security camera systems.By comparison though, the Phoenix Jr is incredibly bright. But the lack of an On/Off switch makes it almost unbearable for me to use.

Have not had a chance to view with NV gear ...
Have not had a chance to view with NV gear as yet, but I was a surprised at it's deceptively small size. No, apparently I didn't look at the dimensions in the description. Be aware that it is just a tiny key chain dongle size thing.

Perfect
Didnt expect to need it but turned out there was a medical emergency where the smart Air Force guys forgot to open their eyes and almost landed on an upside down tank until I grabbed this from my kit and attatched it to a bush and directed them in

FLIR can see these really well. Wait too turn ...
The Helicopter FLIR can see these really well. Wait to turn on until Copter is in area to safe batteries. Can see slight red flash of bulb when activated.

The only Pelican Product to Disappoint Me
I make my living teaching law enforcement professionals how to use video camcorders. At last count I own more than 20 Pelican cases for everything from micro cameras to the 1610 model for carrying long lenses.I also own Pelican flashlights.I am a huge fan of the company and their products. Their warranty on their cases is in my opinion the best in the world. So I am sorry to report that these IR flashers are a waste of your time and money. They are not bright enough to be practical. They eat very expensive batteries very quickly and they are not easy to use. I can’t recommend them.
