NYX Cosmetics Eyeshadow - Frosted Ocean

I'm a fairly recent convert to NYX cosmetics but in a long quest to find a mid-brown eyeshadow I liked, I decided to try this one. Taupe was a bit too dark but this shade True Taupe is lovely. I wear it daily and as a base I use a small amount of foundation plus a primer (NYC) and I find this eyeshadow lasts all day with no problem (somewhere around 8-10 hours at least). It has a very soft texture and feels gentle on the eyelid. The pigment is great and the colour is buildable to a lovely, wearable shade. This is no obvious shimmer, so the flat colour is ideal for daywear, or you could add other colours and a shimmery highlighter for a 'going out' look. This is perfect as a base colour across the whole eyelid and I usually add a darker shade of brown in the socket of my eye for definition. The shadow is lightweight and as I'm getting closer to the bottom of the block, I'm finding more is coming away on my brush when I swirl it around to load up in the container. That said, the little pot is reasonably deep, so I'm not seeing it spill out of the sides. And I've so far had 3 different colours in the range, and I haven't experienced any problems with the eyeshadow breaking up into pieces at all. Overall I'd definitely recommend this product and this particular shade, and on the whole the NYX range is pretty good value.

Easy to apply blends like butter. Lasts all day and night! Highly pigmented. Doesn't crack even without eyeshadow primer. Great to blend under the eyes too. Excellent price for such a good product.

Great basic/wearable colour, a bit dark for all over lid wear (for me med-fair caucasian) so I tend to use it for defining the lash lines and outer corners. Really nicely pigmented but a little powdery, can't complain given price though.

Bought this having watched a makeup tutorial on YouTube and wanted to recreate the look.... Unfortunately the packaging did not adequately protect the product, and if arrived with the lid snapped off and half the powder having fallen out. I did not choose to return it, rather I did that truck with rubbing alcohol to reform the loose powder back into the pot, and lived with a loose lid. The powder itself is lovely, goes on easily on eyelids, and is a nice soft brown. It has a slight shimmer to it, but really subtle. Great to nerd with other colours. I also use it with a small brush to define my eyebrows. Were it not for the packaging failure, this would have got a higher rating....

As far as taupe eye shadow goes, you can't get too excited. However, this one goes on nicely and the hue is just right. It doesn't fade into a nondescript eye make up colour. Also I tried a small, lightly applied amount for contouring and it works very nicely. It goes very well with contrast colours too! A useful little number.

This is a very dark grey (cryptonite) so more suitable for nightime than daytime wear. I buy NYX eyeshadows all the time as they don't irritate my lids.

Ich zweckentfremde diesen Lidschatten auch als Highlighter für den Wangenknochen, den Brauenbogen und die Nasenspitze. Er wird ja als Dupe zu Mac Nylon gehandelt, den ich aber nicht besitze und darum nichts dazu sagen kann. Fakt ist, dass er einfach preiswert, hoch pigmentiert, samtig und einfach toll ist.

Non ne posso fare a meno. Lo uso tutti i giorni come contorno occhi. Ė un bellissimo colore e tiene tutto il giorno senza sbavare. Ottimo ombretto.

Yo pensaba que era un poco más clarito el color y parece prácticamente negro en el ojo. Aunque reconozco que sí que me gusta y queda bonito el brillo que tiene. Q no es excesivo

The color is very pretty and matches well with lots of other colors. I found the product to be powdery, and it is not as pigmented as other NYX shadows that I have purchased.

Rispetto alla foto il colore dell'ombretto che ho ricevuto (Rora Spring Flower) più che rosa è un viola bordeaux/viola chiaro, la foto non rispecchia esattamente la tonalità. Non l'ho ancora provato perchè un po' scuro, magari è più adatto alla stagione autunnale, quindi non mi sbilancio sulla qualità del prodotto. Spedizione veloce e imballaggio accurato come da standard di Amazon.
