Good Quality for Price
Great quality for a cheaper-priced trail camera. Battery life is pretty good; night mode is good quality too. The video times for motion capture are adjustable. Picture quality is pretty good-- we haven't caught anything exciting on camera yet (just a few mice, rabbits, an outdoor cat, and sparrows), so no pictures for evidence. But we like it well enough! Was worth the buy just for checking out what visits our yard!

Fantastic Video Quality
I am not an expert on this but very impressed so far for the price. I actually bought it because my neighbor threatened us and I had no way to get a wifi or plug in camera on my animals. The instructions were a little confusing and the test part seemed so simple I was afraid it was too good to be true. I put it up about 3 weeks ago and just today took it down to review the footage. I couldn't figure out how to do it on the device so I removed the memory card. First issue, it says to put it 3 or 4 feet off the ground. That's probably perfect for an actual trail cam, but for my purposes I put it about 5ft high on a fence post and it went off over and over and over for 2 days because of my ducks and goats and then it was full and stopped recording. Next time I will mount it much higher for my specific purposes so my own animals DON'T set it off, I also got a bigger memory card. Second, the video quality is fantastic. I could not believe the clips I was watching were from a fairly cheap trail cam. Even the area in the background that was wooded that I wanted to cover (the property line) was pretty darn clear. My advice for buyers is just to put it up, do the test in the instructions, and then within a day or less pull the memory card and watch the clips to see if you need to adjust anything. I didn't do that so didn't know it was full and missed a dangerous incident, so just make sure you double check it after placement to be sure it's good to go.

No sound and not recording at night across from street light.
Update 10/26 Elaine from After sales care sent me a newer model. Sounds is fine. Still issue with street light, but hey they can not cover every lighting bandwidth in the world. I screwed around with Elaine for a few weeks while testing the cam. She/He was very patient and persistent. For the low price the quality is fine. I'm not certain about the long run. I've had two in the cold and rain without a problem. The early cams came with bad sector sd cards, but we will all purchase better quality cards and better quality batteries so no big deal. Elaine I hope you are reading this because I raised my rating and gave a better honest review due to your patience. I have two. Sound is crap on both, either the mike is covered or installed back ward. But I have one across from a street light. Daytime recording is fine. Nightime NOTHING. Once the street light comes on that ends the recording ability. I assume the street light wavelength is some how tricking the camera into not recording, messing with the sensor. I'm baffled. No setting to either turn off night vision or set twenty four hour recording. No point is setting timed recording when the street light will screw with any attempt to record after it comes on. Does get pretty good battery life with all eight in. I doubt Vikeri is in contact with the manufacturer to provide a fix or explanation why this is happening. Some motion detection is off too. Maybe it is a distance or height thing. But Both will record a movement, yet later a larger object a tad off further away or lower height will not appear. Like a car driving down the street fifty feet away gets recorded but a neighbor walking down the driveway thirty feet away does not. Both car and neighbor would be at the same depth and should be recorded.

Beautiful, clear shots
I have eight of these cameras at present. They are very easy to set up and install. I like all of the options like photos, short videos, the lag in between shots, etc. The pictures are beautiful. We actually got our cameras because we have a neighbor who likes to trespass and harass. We now have cameras all around our fence lines that border his property. We have a farm and there is no way to use the cameras that need Internet and send pictures to phones. The distance is too great. So I bought these instead. They work wonderfully as far as deterring our neighbor, and we have been enjoying the wildlife shots. Night vision obviously is not as clear as day, but I can always see what’s happening just fine. The batteries last a very long time. I put eight of them in. I bought 32 GB cards (they do come with cards, but I bought extra so I can switch them out; never leaves the camera cardless) and have never come close to filling one up, and I use the highest resolution. I can go a couple of weeks without checking the cards and they are still not full. In very extreme weather, and I mean VERY— as in we had sections of metal roofing blowing off of our buildings and received 5 inches of rain in two hours— I did have two of the cameras get water behind the lens and where the lighting is. One of the screens even fogged up. However, I set the cameras in the sunlight and they dried out and there were no problems at all with the cards even though they got wet. These are simply excellent cameras.

Garbage, regret buying it
UPDATE: After five months running it, I've set this camera up about 9 or 10 times and let it run. It has worked correctly maybe two of those times, and the photo quality when it has worked has been awful. In most cases, it has taken anywhere from 2 to 10 pictures and then stopped. Sometimes, it will just get me walking away from it and nothing else, when I've watched animals walk in front of it, and I've walked in front of it again myself. Sometimes, you don't even get that. I've tried every suggestion and every trick that I've learned in nearly 30 years of running trail cams, and this thing is just garbage. I regret buying it. I've owned and used a lot of trail cameras over the years, going back to the 35mm days in the mid-1990s. This one definitely isn't the worst that I've owned, but the quality is more akin to cameras that I owned a couple of generations back than the ones I use today. I was looking for a less expensive option than my current preferred brand, which costs about twice what this Vikeri costs, and I saw quite a few very good video reviews of it online, so I decided to give it a shot. The camera arrived nicely packaged. On removing it from the box, I thought the construction of the case and the latches seemed to be of a lower quality than my other cams, but that's to be expected at this price point. On the positive side, the seal around the door seemed to actually be better than my current cams, which was a big plus since I was buying it to replace a camera that had been ruined by moisture. The first surprise that I ran into is that this camera uses a micro-SD card, so if you have standard SD cards for your other cameras, be prepared for that. It does come with a cheap no-name 32gb to get you started. The second thing you need to know is that the camera is finicky with the formatting. On the first card run, the data on it would not read on any of my devices. I reformatted the card in my computer, but when I put it in the camera, it said the SD was invalid and had to format again. I accidentally moved the switch to off instead of on after that, and when I turned it back on, it again told me the SD card needed to be formatted, even though I had just formatted it in the camera seconds earlier. The menu is not completely intuitive, but not awful either. I did notice that on the setup screen, it always says the camera is in video mode, even when you have it in photo mode. I was worried about that, but it worked according to my settings rather than what it said. I also suspect the screen will not last long, as only a week into owning the camera, I'm already seeing some distorted lines along the top and bottom in the menu mode. The bracket that mounts the camera is also a little strange. Rather than running the straps through part of the camera body like others I own, there's a plastic bracket on the back of it, rounded to fit the tree. It probably works well if you use the straps to mount directly to the tree, but I use screw-in mounts, and the way that it's positioned makes it awkward and bulky for that. Finally, there's the picture quality. Daytime pictures are not bad, but night pics are pretty awful. They're very grainy and distorted compared to my other cams. Part of that can be attributed to the no-glow flash which never has the quality of IR flash, but I don't think that's the complete issue. Ultimately, I guess, you get what you pay for. If you're looking for a budget camera just to show you what's in the woods, this will probably work for you (though I do have concerns about how long it will last, especially the screen which is already giving me problems a week in). If you prefer higher quality pictures, especially at night, I'd look elsewhere.

Nice little trail cam at a great price
I was looking for some trail cameras to place in my yard to monitor a group of foxes that were passing through in the evening. I also built a chicken coop and have some chickens so I now I mainly use the cameras to monitor predator activity. I bought two and placed them at various locations and experimented with both still images and video. Both options work well. The video quality seems to be better for daytime activity but still not bad at night. The video also records audio. I like that the system interface gives you the option to extend video length. I started recording 10s video clips which is the default but decided to extend to 20s just to be able to see more of the activity. Keep in mind that longer video clips mean that your memory card stores fewer clips and you will also drain your batteries faster. I generally check every few days and will delete the clips that are not worth keeping or I will transfer clips to my computer and format the card. Regarding battery life, the camera will function with either 4 AA or 8 AA batteries. Using 8 will give more overall life. I seem to be averaging about 1 month on a full set of fresh batteries. The camera comes with a basic 32GB microSD card. The base card has been working fine. I have been very pleased with the camera and would recommend purchasing.

Takes great photos/video, but buttons stopped working properly after 7 months
PROS - takes great photos - takes great video - takes pretty cool night vision photos/video - has incredibly long battery life/low battery usage - stores a great amount of video/pictures (so far for us the cap has been 669 photos/videos combined) - has still appeared to be waterproof thus far - mount and strap have held up - has a nice “lock” option for photos that you may not want to accidentally delete (which is very easy to do with this camera, read on to find out more) IMPORTANT CONS - buttons eventually stop functioning - buttons aren’t user friendly, it will take quite some time to get it figured out if you’re not technology savvy - “delete all” option is just under “delete” option and button skips down two or three options sometimes, making it very easy to potentially erase all of your photos/videos - buttons eventually render you unable to review and/or delete photos and videos without having to shut down/restart it/put it down and try another day - sometimes freezes, after only pressing one button - pictures/video become obscured when it freezes I got this when it was on sale, as I was looking for one anyway. My overall advice right now is if you’d like a nice trail camera, spend a little more on one that is maybe a name brand with lasting reviews. I say lasting reviews because a lot of these reviews seem to come straight out of the box. These reviews don’t seem to have any where the reviewer came back after having it for a few months. Or they review it after the first day and at that time things are good. The unboxing is great and the camera looks sleek and nice. Once out there it does take great photos, nice video and some really cool night photos, BUT after having it out in the field (sometimes not for weeks at a time, on and off) the buttons and functions accessed through them do not work and/or are not accessible. Here is an explanation of what I mean. You retrieve the trail cam, eager to review pictures. You hit replay to access pictures. This works fine at first, for the first few months. But shortly after that, it becomes more and more difficult to use the buttons. You’ll press down to view the next picture, it’ll “go” in a different direction and access something else, or nothing at all. At times you’ll have to delete photos/videos. You’ll go to the delete option. The button will “skip down” to delete all. You try to cancel and go back and it’ll skip around between cancel and delete all. Don’t hit the okay button unless you know for sure it’s on the right option. The ability to potentially delete all of your items out of the memory is very easy to do by mistake. The cam will also freeze while trying to review photos, sometimes only after pressing one or two buttons. Then it’ll start to obscure photos. Big blocks of green or pink will cover the screen. You’ll delete said photo, which may contain an otherwise great photo of an animal or what have you. Only to find out later that the photos aren’t actually “ruined” they’re just obscured by the camera itself freezing up during review. You’ll try to hit “back” and it just won’t go back. It’ll flip and skip between several options while you’re only trying to press the button one time. Or you’ll go to press a button and it won’t do anything. Or it’ll do a completely different function when your finger wasn’t even anywhere near that option. You’ll got to “lock” a photo or video out of fear of the dreaded “delete all” option, which the camera has a knack for selecting, when you’re only trying to select the single delete button. But you can’t even get to the lock option. The buttons will skip over it. Or not go to it at all. Overall, save yourself the frustration with this camera. It is a GREAT little camera at first. But after a few months the buttons will begin to fail. So perhaps it’s not waterproof? Maybe rain does affect it’s functions? Keep in mind; I also put a piece of metal over it as a roof to deflect rain for most of the time it was outside. There were only TWO times it may have been out in the rain for any amount of time. What is having a camera that takes great pictures and videos, but you can’t properly review them? Can’t delete them? Can’t access them? It’s pointless. Spend more money elsewhere where you get what you pay for in this case. I hope this reviews helps some make a decision before they spend their money and time. I’ll be keeping this as a back up camera until it possibly conks out all together. But I’ll make sure I keep uploading the photos and videos to my phone so that I don’t lose them all.

Great camera...good quality photos and videos
We were having issues with people trespassing in our yard and I didn't want to spend hundreds for a camera security system (Sorry Best Buy). So I did my research on YouTube and watched reviews in this camera. Very flexible with its settings for both picture's/ videos and the infrared lighting works great and it basically invisible at night. The cammo pattern on the camera helps it blend in with the tree and it's actually hard to see unless your looking for it...after dusk it's basically invisible. It comes with a 32GB micro SD card but I put a 128 GB card in it...works like a charm and I may gat a second one as well. I will post actual video and pictures from it tomorrow. 5 Stars from me Cyril Ontario, Canada

NO LO RECOMIENDO
NO SIRVE ESTE EQUIPO, CUANDO HAY UN MOVIMIENTO UN POCO RAPIDO NO LO DETECTA. TAMBIEN SOLO PUEDES VER 13 FOTOS. ES DECIR CUANDO LA CAMARA TOMA MUCHAS FOTOS SOLO PUEDES VER 13 FOSTOS Y LUEGO SE CONGELA LA CAMARA, NO SE APAGA NI CAMBIA DE MODO. HAY QUE RETIRAR LA BATERIA PARA QUE VUELVA A FUNCIONAR. EN POCAS PALABRAS. NO SIRVE

Great trail cam.
Good camera, excellent night vision and great sound, easy to set up. Will be buying 2 more. I have 3 Spypoint cameras with built in solar panels, other than good battery life, they suck on everything els at triple the price!
