Really impressive as an antenna mast!
This pole is extremely light weight, but handles being extended to 20 feet during 15 MPH. The eyelet at the very top of the pole is quite small, so most carabiners will not fit though. I found the best solution to be a twist-tie through the eyelet! Also, I'm using 26 AWG antenna wire and the K6ARK EFHW with this in case anyone is curious. When the wire is pulled tight, the end of this pole will flex over 45-90deg, but appears to be built to do so. If you need a mast that stays perfectly straight up and down, this will not be that solution. All in all this is the perfect, economical way to get a wire _way_ up in the air.Update: The tip popped off one day, just had to super-glue it back on. I would recommend preemptively removing this piece and super-gluing it anyways so you don't lose it! Also the tip is starting to show signs of rust, so I need to find replacements/back-ups.

I use it as a windsock pole!
If you are an aviation enthusiast who flies drones, paramotors, paragliders, and other ultralight vehicles then this makes for a great portable windsock pole. The loop on the end is small, so I use a small zip tie a carabiner to hang my windsock on the end. A beach umbrella sand anchor is needed to keep this pole upright. The only nitpick is I'd like the pole be slightly more rigid, but it's not a big concern.I will update this review over time and let you know about any mods I make to this pole.

Not for fishing this time
Nice product. Exactly as described. This will eventually become a mast for a vertical amateur radio antenna. It is very portable and lightweight.

Perfect for 1/4 wave vertical antennas!
Sorry fishermen, I use this product for ham radio! Great little telescopic mast for a great price. I made a little vertical antenna using a light stand/tripod, some 28 gauge wire, a little plastic box with an SO-239, and this mast. Perfect combination. First time I transmitted on it, I received a 5/9 from Canada at my home in Mississippi on the 20 meter band.Though I'm sure the flexibility of the mast lends itself well to landing sunfish, this mast was also perfect for my purpose.73 de K5SFC

Packaged poorly - damaged
Pole seems nice and strong enough intended for a windstreamer for PPG. Not strong enough for a full sock at full length. Base of handle sustained damage due to poor packaging *just in a plastic sleeve*

Crazy Light
I bought this pole based on a negative review complaining that all the positive reviews were from hams using it for antennas. That's what I wanted. However, my tiny, five year old grandson was able to hold it horizontally at full extension. That's crazy light because he's only in the 20th percentile for size. I also give it kudos for durability because it was able to raise a 2m ladder line slim Jim with coax. I would trust it fishing.

Broke tip.
After the third time using this poke fishing for mullet. The metal tip on the end of pole. Pulled off. Lost the fish and all the line with it.
