ZERO WASTE WORLD Natural sponge -eco friendly washing up sponges, natural cleaning products for home,non scratch 100% biodegradable (cellulose sisal)

I bought a pack of these natural cleaning sponges several months ago, may even be a year or so - honestly, I've lost track. I'm about halfway through the 6 pack that I bought, they last for a long time. I was sceptical about how well they would clean in the daily washing up - and whether the natural fibre sponge top would really engage with food residue. As the purchase was far more than I would pay for economy plastic sponges, it was a bit of a gamble. I needn't have worried. These sponges are great at getting pots and pans clean and seem themselves to be self-cleaning, maybe because they're a natural product. They don't seem to become stained as plastic sponges do. The sponge itself doesn't seem to degrade over time, still going strong after several months. The top wears over time, but is durable and again, lasts several months with daily use - this is why I'm still only halfway through the pack!So, although my purchase was a greater initial outlay than I would pay for plastic sponges, it has been a money-saving purchase, as I doubt I'll need any more for the next year or so. These sponges are a far better environmental choice as well, something we should all be thinking about.I will repurchase and would never go back to plastic sponges, excellent product, I highly recommend.

Excellent quality sponge, lasts ages, maybe not as long as durable as a plastic sponge but it is biodegradable so no regrets.

I live in a student house with three others, so our sponges get a lot of use. The 'sponge' part has lasted wonderfully, and any rigidness disappeared after a couple of days. The scour side works just as well as the sponges we had been buying before and there doesn't seem to be any bits of debris left over. Initially, the only problem was that whatever adhesive was holding the sponge and scour bits together seemed to break down more quickly, but I think this is due to one of my housemates leaving the sponge in the basin of water after finishing washing up, and since stopping that the parts don't seem to detach. Overall, I'd recommend these as an eco-friendly option. They seem to last longer that the regular cheaper sponges as long as they aren't left submerged in water.

It’s bothered me for a long time that the green and yellow pan scourers I used to use have plastic in them which won’t rot down and can’t be recycled and add micro plastics into the water systems. So I’m really pleased to have discovered these cellulose pads with a sisal scourer. I find them very good. Having said that I haven’t had anything that was really burnt on and tend to soak things first if they look like they need it. They don’t last as long as my old plastic scourers, (the sisal layer deteriorates first) but I have found a scourer lasts a couple of months, (although I only wash up a few non-stick pans as I also use a dishwasher) So the packet of 6 should last a year. And, personally, I don’t mind paying a little bit extra so that I can contribute to helping secure the planet for my children and grandchildren. (Worth noting: when I have replaced the scourer because the sisal layer has worn out, I pull it off and I find the remaining cellulose pad part can still be used and is very useful for wiping down the counters with and cleaning baths and sinks with etc. and it lasts for ages. I boil it up for a few minutes to clean it /kill bacteria from time to time)

Very impressed with these sponges. Each one lasts for months, sheds no fibers, cleans well, scrubs gently. Ten times better than the old supermarket blue and green ones we used to use. Never again!

I love these little sponges. Thought they were a bit expensive to start with but they last longer than my other non bio degradable sponges. We have been using this sponge for 6 weeks non stop. As you can see the non abrasive side is beginning to break down and bits do come off as you use them. They clean well on stuck on food and pans and do not scratch. I have bleached them, microwaved them to keep them germ free and still it performs well. I would definitely buy these again. Doing my bit for the planet.

OK compostible sponges but the scourers fell off within a couple of days use every time so definitely won't be buying again.

It's hard to go into depth about a sponge, as I'm sure you could imagine, but this is a great product.There'll be a variety of reasons why you're here looking at a 100% biodegradable sponge, but what I think you'll want to know is "does it work?". Well the answer is yes, every bit as much as the usual ones we unfortunately throw in the bin.The scourer doesn't scratch non-stick pans, but is easily tough enough to remove food cooked on to a stainless steel pan. An example I can give is cooking rice. It deals with food on crockery easily.The sponge is soft but does its job perfectly, be that dishes or surfaces.100% biodegradable too, so we're not putting more senselessly produced single use plastic into our world.I am so happy and will definitely be returning for more when the current ones have seen their day. Lovely little company too actually, with delightful correspondence.
