This MediTac pressure bandage is a solid addition to any trauma or first-aid kit. The 12” x 12” pad is genuinely large enough to cover bigger wound areas or amputations, and the 8-inch elastic wrap with the built-in pressure applicator gives you real compression without needing extra gear. It’s double vacuum-sealed, so it stays sterile and takes up almost no space until you need it. One-handed application is straightforward once you’ve practiced with it, and the stop-and-go closure bar locks everything down cleanly. For the price (typically right around the $13 range), you’re getting a proper all-in-one hemorrhage-control bandage instead of a basic roll of gauze. Worth keeping a couple on hand for vehicles, range bags, or home kits.

Received 2 of these today. One for practice and the other for a kit. I used a queen sized pillow roughly equivalent to my own torso size. Followed the directions for abdominal injury. Coverage area is adequate however, IMHO, the lead is too short. It needs to be at least another 24 - 36 inches longer. The lead did cover the ends of the pad but after that there was little left to tuck into a previous wrap. IMHO, I wouldn't try using this on someone much bigger than myself and there are many who are. I'm 5'7" at 155lbs. I would also carry a couple of ABD pads for extra absorption and/or gauze for wound packing JIC. The instructions are clear not to apply pressure to the wound rendering the pressure bar rather useless unless truly needed. The plastic barrier mentioned in the advertisement turns out to be the 2nd interior plastic wrapping itself containing the bandage, which is fine, but took a couple of moments to figure that out. Overall, really like the idea, but again, IMHO, the lead is too short. What would be nice is if the current T3 bandage were to be offered in the 6" size instead of just the 4" size currently available. A 6" T3 bandage could easily cope with an abdominal wound just as well. As for the other bandage, it will go in a kit but will have to use a little discernment if it becomes an issue of use.

My wife and I drive up in the hills, and on the forest roads, often an hour or two from any first responders. We also camp well off-grid. We started taking some first aid supplies, and that’s grown into a fairly sizable medical kit. I have one of these pressure wound dressings in the kit, but I wanted to add a second one. Everything you need for a high-pressure hemostatic wound dressing is included. Mine arrived shrink wrapped in a wad, which wasn’t the best for organized storage. Still, it’s compact and easily portable. The manner in which this bandage rolls out is more or less the same as similar trauma bandages. The pressure bar is very similar to the other brand that I have. Every one of them that I’ve seen, all look to be based off the Israeli bandage design. The bandage wrap is a comfortable feeling woven fabric band. One thing I found odd, was that the bandage wrap is 8 inches wide, but the wound dressing is 12 inches wide, when unfolded. Anything else I’ve seen, the dressing is double the size of the bandage wrap; so, a 4 inch wrap would have an 8 inch gauze, and so forth. I thought the sizing was a bit odd on this one. The overall quality looks adequate, but I’ve seen others that inspire a bit more confidence. Anything is better than nothing in an emergency, and this is definitely multiple steps above plain gauze, and some white tape. It’s a reassuring feeling to have some emergency medical supplies when you’re a long way from help. It’s hard to put a price on that when you need it. Still, this bandage makes it even more affordable than many similar pressure bandages. It’s economical enough that it’s affordable to just about everyone.

Even though it’s vacuum packed it’s still too large to pack anywhere. Made in China. I would buy the Olaes blast bandage instead. Comes with a sheet of plastic for a occlusive dressing and the Olaes blast bandage is the size of a 4 in Israeli dressing. This bandage is about the size of a I pad in a vacuum package.
