A very nice product. I have used metal contour gauges in the past, but none of them had pin locks. I decided to try this gauge set mostly because of the locks, and this was a good choice. The pins move smoothly, the locks work very well, and the result is a tool that is very useful and practical. Well made.

4 stars since it’s not the most accurate with fine details but it’s a great solution for measuring and cutting around fixtures and connections that I need to place my new vinyl plank flooring around. Love the lock and how easy it is to work.

Lionz Contour Gauge Profile Tool - Lets Dive In Pre-Summary: Not sugar coating anything here. If you are experienced in cutting angles and floor/tile work this tool will most likely not help you at all. This item is almost to the point of being a gimmick however if you are someone like me who has no experience with the above referenced this tool could be a lifesaver. You can get near perfect angle measurements in most cases! Pros: - The engineering of this device is simple but effective - The locking mechanism holds everything firmly in place - Easy to use - Fun to use! Cons - Not as accurate as more professional methods

Useful for tricky cuts when laying flooring.

The product can work well if you put in extra effort. However, trying to contour steep curves/angles (corner of a table for example) results in the “pins” (the orange pieces that create the contour) bending and separating from each other on either side of the workpiece. You can fix this by squeezing in hard on both sides of the contour pins, but it’s difficult to do so with only two hands while simultaneously holding the tool itself as well as the workpiece.

these contour gauges were just what I needed to help me with installing floor tile in those tight corners that are sometimes hard to cut

I figured I would only be using the tool here and there on specific angles for certain trims and molding, but I was surprised by how many tasks I could utilize it for and I was surprised that I enjoy it as much as I do. It really takes the headache and difficulty out of handiwork and measurements in particular. It is super easy to use right out of the box and without a 2nd thought. The simple lock guarantees you will quickly capture the shape without losing it. It is so handy and easy to use that I ended up annoying my family going around measuring random angles and capturing weird shapes just for fun! Will definitely be gifting this contour gauge to friends and family!

These were excellent, worked awesome for some profile cuts against round logs in a log cabin home. Highly recommend.

Use at work all the time

This tool is somehow weirdly hypnotic to fit around your doorframe or other shaped outline structure in the house. I'm seriously glad I got it, but the truth is that I have not used it even once. It must be the frustrated carpenter in me. Or, perhaps it is the Ghost of Renovations Past haunting me. I know how much I struggled trying to fit things around arcanely shaped doorframes, and so I play with this gizmo just so as to remember how much easier the job would have been back then if I'd had this tool at that earlier time.....err, when I was still young enough to bend down and fit it around that door frame.
