How long are the loading pins for the weight on each side?

Each loading side allows about 8 inches.

It also looks like where the plates would go will interfere with positioning feet under the pads to do extensions. Any thoughts?

You can put up to a 35 Olympic size plates all the way across before it gets close on leg extention. No issue with leg curls.

I don't know what the maximum capacity is, but based on the way it is constructed you need minimal weights for maximum effect, both on leg curls and leg extensions. I am very satisfied with this machine and would recommend it for anyone needing this piece of equipment for their home gym.
