What is the temperature range that the tape will survive?

The back of the package says 65F to 500F degrees.

Does this contaminate the water it runs past? and at what amount? there must be tests/studies? since it's for water... right?

I really can't answer this question. I only had a small pin hole in a hose and it sealed it with no problem. That was a couple years ago and it is still holding.

Reusable to a point. The more you stretch it the less you will be able to use again. Also the adhesive will pick up dirt and debris which won’t help. I used it on a drain pipe I split while cleaning with a snake. It worked well enough, the plumber had a hard time removing. Great product not sure I would reuse especially on something that may leak.
