Metravi DT-725 TRMS AC/DC Digital Pocket Clamp Meter upto 600A with Auto Ranging

Most clamp meters out there are either AC only or Too poorly made or Too expensive. This fits in the right spot - well made & works for measuring both AC & DC (Current) using the clamp. Apart from the clamp measurements it also fulfills all roles as a general purpose multimeter. The measurement range is automatic. It comes with both a work light & light on the display. I believe the measurements are fairly accurate, the initial reading might not be 0, but as mentioned in the instructions - the measurements are approximately close to the correct reading. I use it mostly for DIY home works & electronics circuit design. It does come with an empty calibration certificate. Doubt there is any relevance to it. The build quality is excellent, feels solid in hand. It is very small in size (18cm x 5.5cm x 2.5cm approx.)

Best AC/DC clampmeter in this price range with exciting useful features like(Following mentioned values all are auto ranged) 1. 0-750v AC(True RMS) voltage range. 2. 0-1000v DC voltage range. 3. 6000 count display. 4. 0-60megaohm resistance, diode, continuity check for wires or ckt, Capacitance checking 5. Frequency checking with duty cycle also. 6. Temperature checking in C or F units. 7. Square signal generator(which is best in segment) from 50Hz to 5000Hzor 5KHz range. 8. AC/DC ampere checking upto 0-600Amp. But AC ampere is slightly shows lower value upto 1.5amp, after 1.5amp it shows the correct value, DC ampere also slightly shows lower value upto 200mA or 0.2amp, after that it shows the exact value. 9. Auto power off with screen backlight, back flash light and along with data hold option also. 10. NCV(Non contact voltage or Emf detector for 80v to 1000v AC range) with high Buzzer sound. Overall very good Clampmeter in this price range with 1 year manufacturing defect waaranty.

Using it for solar panel fitting, as in electrical works. Accuracy is very good clamp jaw is good. Compact ca carry in ur pocket for work , it is good purchase and good quality.

IMPORTANT: These types of clamp meters are not accurate for small current drawing devices. Like I tested it with my ceiling fan (approx 65W) and it shows 0A current draw. When check with customer support, they clarified it. It will be more accurate as current draw increases. Then I tested it with my induction cooktop which can easily draw 1000W (depending on temperature setting) and meter showed correct amp. readings. For small appliances, need to use leakage current clamp meters. Still giving 5 stars as product is very good in terms of features, design and build quality.

Pros. Very convenient size. Meter build quality is good. Test probes are nice and have sufficient length. Clamp opening is satisfactory. Meter accuracy seems to be good. Feels good in the hand. NCV works perfectly. Cons. Pouch is a little smaller for the meter and test probes together. Pouch is just for carrying. It does not give any protection. A hard case could be better. Temperature probe quality could be better. Back light turns off after 10 seconds. It is really in convenient because backlight does not have a dedicated switch. Flash light is very poor. Not very useful for dark areas. Overall. Good at first impression. Not worth over 3000 rupees.
