My favorite pan
Bought this wok over a year ago, use it often, and it's become my favorite pan. When seasoned and heated properly, it's practially nonstick. The carbon steel allows it to be lighter than cast iron, though it's still pretty heavy if you're trying to toss your food while cooking. The other thing to keep in mind with stovetop woks is that you need a really high flame to get it hot enough to function well and produce real wok hei. I don't think it would work well on an electric stovetop. Gas is better but residential gas ranges have to be turned way up. An induction range or commercial gas burner would be best. I manage with my gas range on high. It's also a really well-made, beautiful pan.

Great value for the money.
Well made and has held up extremely well after several uses. I season the wok after each use to prevent rusting. Great value for money.

Couple of positives and a couple negatives
This is the first time I bought a wok, so I’ll share my experience of why I love it and a couple downsides. I love how much you can fit in it without it spilling over the side like in a regular pan. It’s my go to for a one pot dinner. Quality is good, the wooden handle does not overheat and it’s easy to take off. The design is nice and the lid is a great addition for steaming, retaining moisture or simply to keep food warm. Now onto the negatives. It’s definitely NOT nonstick. Most of the dishes I’ve cooked were burning to the bottom of the pan. Once it was so stuck on I poured water into the wok and let it sit for a couple of hours for easier cleaning. Little did I know it would leave an unattractive stain on it as pictured. I used various methods to have it come off to no avail. All in all I’d give it 3.5 stars having to experience cooking in a wok. Good starter wok for the price but next time I’ll be buying something of better quality that is nonstick.

Love this wok!
Well made, light weight,so easy to use. I was amazed how well packaged everything was, anda useful tote bag to boot! The rich wooden handle comes in its own air bubble tube to prevent any damage to it. The wooden cookware is rich and well made as well and its own lofa sponge! The stepped wooden lid is well made as well, no rough spots or chips. The removable handle is easy to put on and take off, allowing the wok to be used in the oven upto 450 deg. Seasoning is easy, and step by step instructions are included and easy to follow. I would suggest that you treat the wooden lid and utensils as you would any fine wooden kitchenware. Just rub a little food grade mineral oil or wood care oil on before using and as needed after. The last picture shows the last paper towel from the seasoning process. A little black is OK! Store your wok up side down to prevent any moisture build up that could cause rusting. This IS steel and like cast iron needs protection from moisture. Reseason as needed. The more you use it, the better the non stick gets. It is NOT treated with any non stick coating, so no icky stuff in your food! I am more than happy I chose THIS wok. I love it, and you will too! Happy cooking!

Quality
Mu first wok style pan and I adore it. I use it for alot of things that would make a Vietnamese chef want to assault me, but its perfect for far more than what you think about when you think of a wok. Perfect for cooking anything you wanna stir. Which is honestly everything. Great for making pasta dishes, cooking ground hamburger, ect. Just make sure you season it and clean it up before first use. Lid is the cheapest part. It still works but I had a chip come off already. Which was my fault at the end of the day, but just be careful with the lid and spatchula as wood can retain foul smells if you're a lazy cleaner like myself. Always make sure things are atleast rinsed before letting it sit in the dishes pile haha.

Originally ran into issues with the wok
When i purchased this wok, I was so excited, but after the first wash apparently had a defect in the nitride layer but after talking with the helpful customer service they offered to send a replacement since the original wok had a defect. It is a well Constructed piece of equipment. Sturdy handle, the tools that came with it were wonderful and I loved the wooden lid. Packaging was on point and found no fault in the overall construction of the wok aside from the layer

Never seen a more useless wok
I have been using wok for cooking Chinese food for many years. But I have never seen such a useless and sticky “non-sticky” wok. My previous non-sticky wok has been used for three years and it gets a little bit sticky so I bought this one. The first photo is taken right after I strictly followed the instructions and seasoned the wok. As you can see, there is an area where the coating seems broken. I tried to fry two eggs right after seasoning and the wok already started to be sticky. It was the dinner time when I used it to fry tofu that I realized I made a terrible mistake to buy it and I need a new one. You can see the second photo. It was extremely sticky. It was even more sticky than my previous three-year old wok. In the next filling days, I used it for several meals cooking but the experience is extremely bad. Before I bought this work, cooking is satisfying and relaxing for me and this wok changed that. I end up buying a new nonsticky pan.

damage over time obvs
I've had this wok for a long while now. A couple years at lease if even that. While it's easy to use and nice, I've found that for what ever reason small pits have formed. We take care of it as one should for woks, in fact we have two others from different brands. Neither of those formed pits. So word of caution I suppose. It still works it just forms pits.

£65 crap! 😤 Terribly disappointed. It is NOT suitable for the induction hob.
£65 crap. I bought this because it supposed to be compatible with induction hob. I couldn’t even season it . The wok deformed as soon as it gets some heat and the bottom hardly catches any heat. After long time at the cooker I managed to get it oiled. After first meal preparation everything burned to the bottom. I let it cool down, washed with provided sponge and look at those shiny metal patches … 🤬

Wooden led broken
When I received this wok today I noticed that the wooden led is broken on each side of the led’s handle.
