best beach sun tent that is easy to assemble, store, high quality in every pole, bag, tent
We bough this tent sun shelter gently used. It was still well packaged with all the items still in the box. There were instruction sheets that came along with it. The four poles were packed two each in two bags. The sand scooper, elastic ties and metal anchors were still in the bag and didn't look like they were used. The big blue canopy was also well packed in its own bag. This whole canopy is well packaged and I like how they all have their own bags for storage and then fit into one big bag at the end. Putting up the canopy is easy. We have the XL size and it is true to the dimensions. It gives us plenty of shade and easy to put up and bring it down. Sliding the four legs out to give you the best support for the metal poles. Sand is always at the beach you might as well use it when you can. If you are any other place and need to use this sun shelter they include metal anchors to use. The material of the canopy is flexible and offers you shade when you need it. The material is strong and durable. Easy to move around as needed. When you are done for the day everything fits nicely back into their own bags. This is so easy to carry to and from the beach. The bag fully loaded does have some weight but its doable. Best thing we bought for the beach that will stay put on the most windiest days! Love it. Well worth your money. We may even buy a few more! So easy to put up and take down.

Easy to set up, great shade, does well in the wind!
07/2024 - Updating after another season and 2 solid weeks of use - TOTALLY WORTH EVERY PENNY. This sucker is fantastic. We have put it through the wringer over the past two weeks, up and down every day, on the beach for hours with decent winds every day. It sets up in less than 5 minutes and stays up for as long as you want it to. Pro tips: - lay it out flat and stretch the corners as far as you can before digging a hole for each pocket. Fill the pockets with sand and bury each pocket in the hole you dug for it. The pockets can hold so much sand - fill them as much as you can. The more you fill and the deeper you bury them, the more wind it can withstand. - once the corners are filled and buried, place the poles about 6 inches in from the corners of the top and stand those suckers up. - if you don’t want as much profile, you can get away with 2-3 poles in the front, setting the whole thing up like a lean-to. - secure the poles with the elastic ties and you’re golden. Update! I called customer service today and they returned my call within 10 mins. They ordered 2 replacement poles for me and expedited shipping so I will have the poles in 48 hours. Perfect customer service! Hi! I’ve been on the beach this week and we brought my Sun Ninja beach tent. Here’s my honest review: So easy! Just stretch the tent out flat on the sand, pulling the 4 corner pouches out super far. Dig holes for each pouch and start filling the pouches with the sand. Make sure the pouch is filled to the brim and snug down in that hole, then cover the pouch with even more sand so it’s buried in that hole. Then place the poles about a foot in from the corner seams, rubber ball up, and stake them down in the sand. You can use 2 poles to do like a lean-to, or 4 to give you more room. Put the elastic bungees on top so they attach the tent fabric to the rubber ball and pull tight. You’re done! When all the parts work, it’s amazing! Pros: ✅ the XL is huge and shady and has room for 4 comfortably, but you could easily fit like 8-10 people under the shade in a pinch ✅ when all the parts are working, you can have it up in 5 mins or less ✅ when you have it up and staked right, it can withstand a lot of wind, not just breeze ✅ comes with a great carry bag and small shovel to fill the pouches Con - just one: ❌ we’ve had 2 faulty poles that get stuck and won’t quite fit all the sections together snugly - I’m going to contact Sun Ninja and will update this review with their response

Awesome sunshade any. The bad reviews are user error
I did a lot of research for a beach shade since all the good ones are expensive. I opted for this one and this thing is great. Easy to set up the with the longest part is filling the anchors with sand which is still fairly quick. No issues on a windy day just need to adjust the poles and anchors accordingly. I got the 7x7 which is pictured here and is great for 1-4 people but the height leaves something to be desired in my opinion. The 7x7 would be perfect with 6 ft poles instead of the 5 foot ones so we opted to get the 10x10 which comes with the 6ft poles which is the perfect height and plenty of space for our family of three and all our beach stuff. With plenty of room to spare. The travel bag is small and takes no room and is not heavy when traveling with your beach items. The only negative is that it does have a large footprint so you will have to have a spot on the beach with a decent amount of room but overall this is a great sunshade.

Great 2p shade tent
I got the 7x7.5 size and it’s actually pretty great. It’s not really big enough for more than 2 people, and you can’t fully stand under it, but it’s easy to set up. It feels sturdy enough and provides shade. Much better suited than the “easy-up” style 10x10 and the tent pole style screen house we had. I would definitely recommend it for a coulple looking for beach shade.

Great design + easy to use + stable in wind = I’d get one
This review is for the 5’ x 5’ “two-person” size tent, primarily used with two poles (only). Random notes in no particular order: - First saw one of these earlier this summer, and thought ‘that’s the coolest-looking tent ever’. Looks like a big ol' waterbug on the beach. Which BTW, it does sprawl out there – that 5’ x 5’ tent is more like 15’ x 15’ once it’s stretched out, so be aware. I will say that though the legs do stretch out, they are anchored by sand bags, so there are no stakes/spikes etc. for you (or anyone else) to worry about. - I purchased the 5’ x 5’ version as I usually go on my own to the beach to read. The 5’ x 5’ size is perfect for one person, which leads to an important note: Size/people references supplied are more like ‘maximum capacity’. I’d halve the occupancy ratings for ideal fit: 5’ x 5’ for one person 7’ x 7’ for two 10’ x 10’ for four - Especially if you only use two poles, which I think works best. Definitely affects fit, but using two poles vs. four provides more shade, and more shade options over the course of the day. - I also find that less poles means more stability in the wind. If you follow the directions (face the front of the tent directly into the wind, pack the sand bags to the max and bury the bags, and stretch each tent leg/bag out as much as possible before raising the poles), the tent is surprisingly stable in the wind with two poles. I used the tent this afternoon in sustained winds of 15-25 MPH – absolutely no umbrellas at the beach today – but dang! the Sun Ninja really held its own in the wind. - Then when I began to take down the tent, I accidentally came upon a sort of ‘alternate’ setup that was incredibly stable in the wind. I removed one pole, which temporarily made the tent a one-poler, but that one pole was pretty well aligned into the wind, and the tent STILL remained stable in the wind! So I thought ’what if I took that second pole and teamed it up with the first one in a /\ setup?’ If you look at the video, the tent fabric sure is blowing, but with the new setup the support is really, really stable. How cool is that! (Speaking of cool, I forgot that I was playing music on my phone while doing the video, so there you go. Thanks to Grant Green and Larry Young for the soundtrack :) - In conclusion, I’ll agree with most folks that my little 5 x 5 tent is super easy to carry-with, setup, and take down. Less than 10 minutes to setup (solo) and five minutes to pack up. Needless to say, I’m very happy with my purchase. It’s a brilliant design: functional, efficient, and stable, and as I said: it’s the coolest-looking tent on the beach! Oh, one last thing: like a previous reviewer recommended: get a larger, more durable scoop than the one provided. Video: Alternate two-pole /\ setup, approx. 20 mph wind. My goofy idea to orient the tent diagonally, with two poles used together at one end. Not sure if you’re supposed to do that, but it worked well for me in the wind.

Best beach purchase!
I kept this Sun Ninja in my cart for over a year. I deliberated and researched repeatedly searching for the best product for our needs. I previously bought a much smaller more tent like sun shelter for the beach. We needed something small enough to fit into a suitcase. Our previous tent fits easily into a suitcase and works well but it is incredibly hot with limited air circulation and barely fits my husband and I. I finally bought the Sun Ninja and I wish I had done it sooner! I love it! It has been really well thought out and is well made. No skimping on quality! We were able to quickly assemble and erect it! It took a topple the first day due to high winds but we quickly learned what to do to make it more secure and never had another problem our first beach trip! Much larger and a lot more air circulation! It packs up easily also! It is worth every penny! We already made back what it cost us in savings on umbrella or cabana rentals!

Great beach shade
This was super easy to set up and take down. Lightweight fabric and easy to transport. Allows for a nice breeze. We see a lot of other people using these since buying it, so it’s definitely a popular choice. The fabric feels sturdy and held up well. It gave us plenty of shade, and we were able to stay at the beach for hours without getting burned. I’d definitely recommend it.

Great protection from the sun!
Love this, easily to set up, easy to take down, perfectly blocks the sun, not too heavy for taking to the beach and amazingly good in windy conditions. But most of all, it passed the husband test!

Resilient and roomy
Second year of use and working very well. Very pleased with our purchase. Last year we took it to Sardinia and it withstood many outings. This year it's been to Majorca and coped well with 20 km winds. As per other reviews, it's worth adjusting the poles and tentacles a few times according to the wind strength and direction. Comfortably fits 3 people, 4 at a push, or one, very precious son as per the photo :-)

Withstands wind well once set up correctly
This is great once it's set up correctly. The trickiest bit is getting the tension right and the sandbags aligned diagonally. It's definitely a 2+ person job to set up but if you're buying this you've probably got more than 1 person using it. When we first arrived at the beach there was little wind and so it went up quite easily. We went off to enjoy the waves but after a little while the wind picked up and it blew over. Took a bit to get it back up in stronger wind, you really need to pack a lot of sand in the sandbags (we originally only had them about two thirds full) and we made use of the little elastic pull tie things around the top of the poles (we didn't use them initially). After the adjustments it withstood the rest of the day perfectly even in quite windy conditions which blew down several other cabanas/shade tents. I absolutely love the shady space it created for our family of 5.

Love this for the beach and camping
We took a risk buying this on amazon not knowing if it would turn out OK or if it would hold up in the wind. We were very impressed using it all last summer and will continue using it. The carry bag is small enough to fit in our travel trailer under the seat and in the wagon when we go to the beach. Sets up quickly and provides a ton of shade. We had to fiddle with it a few times when the wind picks up or changes directions but it does hold up well once you find a good angle for the poles and make sure you fill the pockets completely with sand. We can fit a double wide camping chair underneath and sit comfortably in the chair without hitting our heads on the top plus some towels on the ground. Love this.
