Front Windshield Washer Pump W/Grommet 385-232316A 89025062 8-6710

The washer pump for my '99 S 10 bit the proverbial dust Monday. I worked to take out the fluid reservoir which also required taking out the air cleaner and removed the washer pump from the reservoir. Now, trying to find a part for a 27 year old truck is an adventure and I determined that the local parts stores didn't have what I needed or I'd have to wait 4 days (!) to order one. So, I came here to Amazon and identified one that looked like a dead ringer. Ordered about 8 PM and it was here today, Tuesday, by 3 PM, FABULOUS. The new was only a bit different but installing it was plug and play. Well, it should be good for another 20-odd years so if it requires replacing again, I doubt it will be yours truly doing the job. Just a word to anyone else who may have an older S 10, if you need a washer pump, this is the one to get. Kudos to Amazon for getting this to me faster than I would have ever expected.

Works great and pretty much exactly like the original! Perfect fit for my 2006 Isuzu I-280. The only thing is the plug socket is slightly longer. Just couldn’t install with the rubber grommet on the plug. No big problem.

Bought in April of 2024 died Sept of 2026. 2-1/2 years for a $10 pump that maybe pumped 4 gallons of fluid through it.

Fit and work

Update: The pump burned out in about a year; probably used it less than 20 times. Dropped star rating from 3 to 1. This was ordered for a 2006 Silverado. The pump was not exactly the same as the existing pump on the truck. In the attached picture, the old pump outlet is shown by the purple arrow. The pump outlet on the new pump is shown by the red arrow. They do not point the same direction. I was able to twist the outlet tube/elbow and make it work, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that tube breaks in a few months due to the awkward connection angle. Also, the tab for the clip on the electrical connector isn’t as tall as the old pump. The grommet was not as long as the old grommet and also didn’t have the same flare that the old grommet had; but, no leaks so far. The pump does spray, but doesn’t have the same power as the old pump, and only sprays strongly about half way up the windshield.
