perfect for a woman
Unless you are a female power lifter this bench will do for more lighter and smaller people or those just starting out. As an older woman I am not planning on doing anything of the sort since the Dr. nixed anything like that for me in the first place. Lighter weights are fine. If you are aspiring to become a Power Lifter this will do as a starter. But for us older set, this is perfect Girls!! And if you have guests over just fold it up and out of the way and you have your space back. All pieces and hardware were packaged very well and nicely organized. No missing parts on this one. Instructions were well.......interesting. Some parts didn't match the ones on the sheet. So from the Preacher Curl pad to completion it was "By guess and by Golly". There was a lot of that. BUT.....no leftover parts. So I musta done something right. I did the assembly on my own in about 2 hrs. Some of that time was spent figuring out the Preacher pad to parts etc.. Barbell work is also interesting. Width of barbell is important so you avoid pinching fingers. Mine is 6 ft. which does make for a rather delicate release and reset of the barbell to the uprights. I just have to be careful where my hands are in relation to those uprights is all. They are rather narrow. I would recommend this bench for anyone who just wants to get into basic fitness and not turn into Charles Atlas unless you want to START to turn into Charles Atlas. I have had a ton of Marcy products over a lifetime thus far and all have been very good and very durable. I have no doubts that this will do same.

Well designed and constructed
Great design. Solid welds and all lock nuts. Spent a few minutes unpacking and checking parts. Then about an hour assembling making every nut bolt hand tight, everything fit together perfectly. Was late and had other things going on. The next morning broke out a small adjustable wrench and socket set took about another hour tightening nuts and bolts. So working solo it took 2 hours and a few minutes to assemble. Really happy with this folding bench, it’s solid and folds saving space.Later add to review: after actually using this I have to add that this is not meant for the hard core muscle head. The bench is a little wide and on the short side. The leg press attachment front press is short and a quick release to remove the leg press would make it even smaller for storage. FYI I’m 5’7” and 170 lbs. and I’m fairly good shape. All in all this is an excellent bench for what and who it’s designed for.

Just right
It first in a normal size room well but be aware that it is not professional size equipment. In other words it is for a home gym and not otherwise. This requires mostly a an inch (and not two-inch diameter) weight-lifting rolls equipment add-ons although it is built to do well with either!!! Awesome and good quality built! If building a home gym be very careful and spend a lil more the one time instead of trying to squeeze in equipment. Be creative and have fun. This is worth it. Diameter does not allow for gym- size equipment and all require wiggles when lifting. Nothing to deter. Just not super perfect. It is very nice and if you have the will this works wonders!!!

Body Height and quality
Being a previous body builder 25 years ago I decided to get back into it. A lot of concern on Height of individuals on reviews. As a 5' 11" height hesitated on purchasing this workout bench but decided to go for it. The quality of manufacturing is OUTSTANDING, every bolt hole lined up perfectly, the welding on construction is flawless, the powder coating (paint) is of high quality, at 325 lbs in my body weight the bench is super sturdy and does not give me a feeling that it won't hold me in any position. The instructions for assembly were easy to understand and super detailed, ALL the nuts, bolts and washers were all in a shrunk wrapped package, nothing missing. The box it came in was well packaged as it traveled 2400 miles to me. Delivery was a day early then expected, arrived in 6 days.As far as my height (5' 11") I can see how some reviews said it was difficult to get under the barbell (non Olympic) for doing bench presses BUT turning your body underneath it when getting in position fitted me just fine. If you are tall or have a tall torso this might not be the workout bench for you and suggest to go Olympic size. The workout bench is ergonomically correct for all body exercises. The quality of padding is outstanding.I highly recommend this workout bench if you have a limited space and the extra bonus is that it does fold up out of the way, great feature.Hope this review helps, well worth the money spent. Totally satisfied with this Marcy Workout Bench. 5 out of 5 Stars from me.

Great space saving bench.
I have read a review or two that says you cannot use Olympic bars with this.. well you can, and I do. Sticking with my space saving theme I opted for a 5ft bar instead of the standard seven foot bar.AND I covered the bar rests with rubber socks, then cotton socks to protect my hands from pinching because it is tight fit with the Olympic bars. Other than that it will work great. The first incline position is a nice spot, the second is meaningless for bar exercises but can work for dumbbell routines, and presses. This bench clearly will not help you with squatting but that should be clear by looking at it. Its worth the money is space is a premium for you.
