Does this compress the chest too or just the stomach ?

It compresses the chest very well! I purchased it for a young man who needed his chest to be flattened. This top does an excellent job!

You should be good with a L. Won't be too big or small. It would fit just right.

I’m 5’10” and 180 and the large size fits me well. Follow the instructions on how to put it on. You might need help the first time. Once I got used to the feel, I was able to put it in independently.
