Built much stronger than expected. Will last a lifetime.
I've order a lot of products over the years, but this is the Best. I was so impressed that the 4 main weight bearing pieces (the floor beams, the upright bars, the upright brace bars, and the 3 end braces) were all WELDED together to form a Rock-Solid frame. Usually, these pieces would separate and you'd have to screw them all together with bolts, which is the weakest link. Having a fully Welded frame is incredible at this price. I was amazed that the only assembly needed was to bolt on the 6 horizontal support beams and then the 4 rubber end caps onto the floor beams (which required a mallet to hammer them into place, no big deal). I had purchased one of those pyramid-shaped dumbbell racks a month ago for $39, but the box had a warning for "contains chemicals known to cause cancer" and the rubber end caps had a horrendous odor that would not go away. I returned that unit to the store and ordered this APEX unit to replace it. This APEX rack is so much stronger and safer to use! Safer because your hands are protected when you set down the weights; the width between the two horizontal beams is plenty wide enough that your hand and fingers have lots of room and you won't smash a finger. These beams are also tilted at an angle towards you, so you are lifting towards you, instead of having to lean over and lift straight up (which would put more stress on your lower lumbar region). This safety design was worth the entire price on my first usage of the product. The unit looks great in my workout corner of the basement, next to my bench setup. I've got it loaded with dumbbell sets of 10-12-15-20-25-30-35-40 lbs. Another reviewer said they called APEX and was told the unit will hold 800 lbs. I'm not sure why the price jumps around so much. I saw the price dropped to $63 one day and I ordered it. Less than a week later, it's back up to $99, which is still a great price for a High-Quality product that will last more than my lifetime. This thing is not flimsy, it is STURDY Welded Steel. It is a HOSS.

[Update] Strong and Stable Dumbbell Rack
[Update] I purchased more dumbbells so I needed another rack. I looked at two-tier (8 feet long) dumbbell racks that would hold all my dumbbells, but the cost was crazy high. I decided to purchase another Marcy three-tier rack, and I am glad I did. I saved hundreds of dollars, the rack is super stable, and they hold all of my dumbbells (8lbs - 70lbs). The Marcy 3-Tier Dumbbell Rack is super strong, and easily holds my larger dumbbells. I currently have a pair of 8s, 30s, and 40s on the top tier, and 50s, and 60s taking up the middle tier. My 65s and 70s will be arriving early next week, and will take up the bottom tier [update, my 65s and 70s arrived - see picture]. This dumbbell rack not only looks impressive, it is impressive. There is absolutely no rocking at all. My dumbbells can be taken off the rack and placed back on the rack with ease. The steel is really strong, and even with heavy dumbbells, the rack does not flex. Assembly took me around 20 minutes. Using a ratchet will speed up the process when tightening the bolts. Secure the bolts tightly, but there is no need to over tighten.

Great Product If It Arrives In One Piece
I arrived home from work to find a large, sad looking box sitting on my front porch. The package had clearly been to hell and back, or--at the least--it looked like it had been dropped down a few flights of stairs and beaten by a mob of crowbar wielding thugs. Being rather heavy, I lugged the box inside and removed the straps that had dug themselves deep into the cardboard. Inside was a jumbled mess of metal parts wrapped in laughably wafer-thin bubble wrap. To say the manufacturer cuts corners down in shipping would be an understatement. Moments later, I discovered a smaller parts container that had exploded inside the package, littering its contents with nuts and bolts like a freshly tossed metal salad with all the fixins. Luckily, I was fortunate that everything I needed was in the box, albeit scattered about. I surveyed the overall damage: there were a few scrapes to the paint here and there, and the silver APEX logo stickers were a bit tousled. I then noticed that one of the plastic end caps had been smashed a bit, but only in a place that wouldn't be visible once the equipment was fully assembled. I contemplated calling the manufacturer. "This is a weight rack," I thought. It's meant to see some action, right? Assembly was a breeze. 30 minutes later and my gently damaged dumbbell rack was a solid, sturdy, highly functional addition to my workout room. For the money, you just can't beat the value--despite the shocking condition of the box and its jumbled payload. My final thoughts to you are this: if you are looking for an inexpensive dumbbell rack that gets the job done and you are willing to take the gamble (you may have to to call the manufacturer for replacement parts, you may not), make this purchase. You will be happy in the end, even if it's not right away. If you demand high quality shipping to complement a high quality product, spend a little extra on a different dumbbell rack.

Strong an Sturdy
This is a very nice dumbbell rack and the price can't be beat. Unfortunately, mine arrived with a shallow dent on the upper left upright (which I didn't notice until it was assembled...don't assemble things late night) and the box it came in appeared to be a customer return. The strapping was absent (although the indentations on the box edges where it had been were visible) and the box was taped close with brown shipping tape. Returning it to Amazon was hassle free, as returns go. The only caveat concerning this rack is the limitation posed by the horizontal dumbbell holders. If you have York Legacy, neoprene covered, or vinyl covered dumbbells, you will not be able to use this rack to hold the lighter weight. Anything under 12 lbs. is iffy and any weight under 7 lbs. won't fit at all (although you could cut some masonite, or plywood to fill in the space between the horizontal bars). Beyond that, the rack is a good buy. The horizontal holders can be configured with the lips going up or down, so you have a bit of flexibility storage wise. For instance, on the top tier, I had the higher bar turned lip down, and the lower bar lip up. This allowed for a pair of Powerblock Sport 24 and a couple of medicine balls to sit on the top tier, and I believe there is enough clearance between the sets of horizontals to use the rack as a medicine ball holder. The rack is super sturdy and nice looking. I had no problems with the assembly. If you have hex dumbbells, this rack will be perfect for you needs.

Love it! Bought another!
This is a great compact dumbell rack. I have rubber hex dumbbells. The first row 15, 20, 25 lbs. Second row 30, 35 lbs, Third row 40, 45 lbs. I bought a second one and have first row 50, 60 lb. Second 70, 80 lb. Third 90, 100 lb. I am not going to buy a set in increments of 5 lbs, way too expensive. I can easily use a 5lb wrist weight or a chain for 5lb increments. So I personally like the smaller, compact size of this unit. Very clean, sharp looking, very solid and at a great price. Holds the heavier weight with no issue at all, very solid unit! All dimensions are correct and weight fits perfectly. Yes, you will have a problem if you want to put lighter neoprene weight on it. Even smaller 5 or 10 lb hex dumbbells may give little to no clearance between the handle and the rack. But for my hex dumbbells 15lb and up it's no issue at all. Do not tighten all the bolts down until the unit is assembled and squared up. This will solve any issues with it sitting crooked or holes not lining up. And be mindful of how tight the bolts are... cuz yes you could keep tightening until it crushes the frame (as others have done it sounds like) so just use common sense.
