This may seem a bit unorthodox, but buying a couple of these works well as a "thrifty person's tatami mat."We are floor-sleepers and have owned several tatami mats and futons. Most cannot be put in a washer and are also expensive to discard after a year or so.Solution? 2-3 of these (depending on how much cushion you want) and sheets/blankets or even a sleeping bags. They offer a large area that can easily be folded for smaller use or more padding.These clean up fine in a washer/dryer and also insulate from a cold-feeling winter floor. Fold up nicely for daytime storage.Of course, they work well for their intended purpose: picnics!

My 8 yr old asked if we could have a family picnic before the summer ended. I thought this was a wonderful idea so I decided to make an event out of it.This was the most affordable Blanket I could find with the classic red and white checkered print.And I must say I am very impressed. It really surpassed my expectations. The material is a high-quality blend of what feels to be cotton. Also liquid does not penetrate quickly into it if we have a spill. If I get to it quick enough with a good shake it’s nearly dry.It’s thick, yet durable which helps it stay in place nicely.The material is also breathable. So Even on a warm and muggy day the blanket does not stick to us whatsoever.Also its the perfect size for me and my 3 kids to sit comfortably. I really love that they took the extra step to add the storage bag which turned out to be even more useful than I expected. It helps to keep it safe from getting dirty in the back of my van. The blanket rolls up and fits perfectly back into it. And has a strong over the shoulder strap to keep my hands free so I can carry the basket and everything else we need for our new family picnic events!Totally worth the price, extremely happy with this purchase! highly recommended!

It’s not exactly easy to fold this up but I love that it’s big and light. It does the job just fine!

I love how big the mat is. Even after my husband lay down comfortably, and I am sitting my legs stretched out, there is still room for my baby to crawl around. The surface is nice, not too plasticy, kind of cottony but it repels any liquids and dirt all you have to do is wipe off. folding back is also easy.

I've used this blanket about 6 times now and become very fond of it. It's lightweight and easy to carry with the handles, unfolds and folds very easily, and I like the combination of the old fashioned red check design on top with the modern folding design. The underside is a smooth dark nylon and the top a slightly fuzzy soft material. In short, it feels like a blanket and not a sheet. I don't really know what else you'd want it to do except maybe also make the deviled eggs for you. The price is very reasonable.This is perfect for two people and can fit four maintaining social distance. If you're planning for more friends, than an additional blanket(s) would be necessary.

Got this for family picnics and love it. It's easy to roll up and has a little bit of padding to it.

So perfect and big, doesn’t blow away. Love the wipeable material. Easy to clean. We use this for our toddler’s mommy & me outdoor classes right now but I definitely plan on bringing to the beach or the park when it’s warmer out. Highly recommend!

Product is big and good! A little thinner than expected. Machine washed and still holding up. Seller did send wrong color but remediated it right away! Would buy again!

The product is good. Used it only once or twice till now. It is compact and the size when opened is good for 4 adults to sit on. The bottom layer prevents moisture coming on top. The top layer is comfortable to sit on and is not itchy or rough. Folds down in a near size and gets put in the cover easily once you get a hang of it. Definitely a recommended item for picnic or just sitting on grass, floor and other areas.

Its a worst item. Very thin and does not serve the purpose. Lower layer is torn. Despite of return request, no action was taken by amazon.Never buy this product
