Astronomy is inherently more observational rather than an elemental study of science. All measurements are performed at a greater distance from the object of interest, with no control of quantities such as chemical composition, pressure, or temperature. You will also understand the study of the solar system with relation to the gravitational attraction that holds the planets in their elliptical orbits around the sun. An early study of the universe was done through the naked eyes. This method led to the categorization of the celestial bodies and assigned constellations. Constellation has been a very important navigational tool since the beginning of the world. Various disciplines of Astronomy will also be discussed. Examples of such disciplines include:โขAstrophysicsโขGalactic astronomyโขGalaxy FormationโขCosmologyโขAstrometryโขExtragalactic astronomyโขStellar astronomyโขPlanetary sciencesโขAstrobiologyโขFormation of stars Review: Astromony - Vety informative Review: Don't waste your money on this worthless book - This book is utter drivel. The author has not got a clue what they are talking about, and cannot even write grammatical sentences. How on earth did it get published?

Don't waste your money on this worthless book
This book is utter drivel. The author has not got a clue what they are talking about, and cannot even write grammatical sentences. How on earth did it get published?

Interesting and informative
Interesting facts with out the heavy physics and jargon, definitely a good foundation reference book I would recommend reading this book

A VERY GOOD BOOK ON ASTRONOMY FOR BEGINNERS.

Full of mistakes
Save your money. This book is full of spelling mistakes, hard to follow grammar and just awful astronomy mistakes. A total waste of my money...in fact I'm going to change this from 2 stars to 1. I'm not sure if the author will know what a star is.

Don't waste your time.
I gave up after the first chapter. The grammar is full of errors and the physics is dubious. Even if the author understands the physics her writing is incapable of explaining it. Words matter!

Dreadful book
This is a terrible book, badly written with poor grammar and punctuation. Hardly any illustration to help readers understand tricky concepts. Definitely do not buy if you're a beginner

Very basic
Good reading, but not always clear and very, very basic.

Fascinating
It was a gift. He whipped though this book for an introduction and got to the other bigger book - with more detail. He enjoys learning about the stars.

A bit simple and poor grammar
Explains very simple principles and gives a high level overview, does not really touch on the geography of thr galaxy, which is a pity. The later chapters have poor grammar and seem to be written as a school book.

Love it - Great for young & old
I recently got (re)interested in astronomy and thought this book would a great place to start. Glad I did! It certainly lives up to its title. And while it is great for young people to read, it is not just a "child's book." I'm middle-aged and find it very well written and informative. Great little book! I'm learning a lot and will be reading it many times over.

Pamphlet Only Not a Book
This is just a small pamphlet, and I was looking for a book.
