Clean, sharp cuts
After using my older Woodcraft bit which left ragged and burned cuts, decided it was time for a new, high quality router bit. Most of my bits are from Whiteside, which provide sharper cuts and longer lasting bits. In a router bit comparison review Fine Woodworking declared Whiteside to be the best. That’s been my experience as well. Side by side comparison here confirmed that.

Always great router bits
As always with whiteside. This is a great router bit. Clean, crisp smooth edges with no tear out or burning in plywood. Even routs MDF to crisp clean edges. Plywood, MDF, Hardwood, Softwood, and even things like vinyl. These bits are just great. I have a collection of white side bits and freud bits and the two brands are by far the best router bits for you money

Very good bits
I bought 2 of these when the Freud bit that I had wore out after routing about 150 4"long, 3/16 deep, ½ wide slots in hard maple. One of these bits finished my project (about an additional 500 slots and still going strong. These cost about a third as much, and are a lot better product. I'm buying Whiteside router bits from now on.

Whiteside bit an excellent value
I tested this bit against Bosch, CMT, and Freud Diablo by making 5mm x 5mm cuts 48" long in melamine-coated particleboard, using a CNC router running at 18,000 rpm with a feed rate of 4 meters/minute. Edge of the cut was inspected with a magnifier every 10 cuts. Whiteside bit placed a close second to the CMT bit. Cost of bits: CMT, $15.32; Whiteside, $14.60. Whiteside is made in USA, CMT in Italy.

I bought this bit to replace similar size Bosch router bit that lost a piece of carbide after 15 min of rather heavy use. This one cuts much better out of the box and visually seems to be of higher quality, Time will tell.
