excellent sleeve bearing fan
Very smooth sounding fan. See SPCR article for reviews.http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1361-page5.html has the latest roundup for 120mm fanshttp://www.silentpcreview.com/article832-page1.html is an older review that covers the slipstream fan introduction. The Scythe Slip Stream Kaze Jyuni series. They are sleeve bearing fans, but with a different design. They have nine, fairly slim blades and spokes that curve in the opposite direction (reduces harmonics). The narrow hub size also maximizes the amount of air the blades can produce while minimizing the size of the dead spot at the center where the motor sits. These are better for vertical mount. In a tower case that is usually the intake/exhaust positions and not the CPU heatsink but depending on your case and heatsink choice(s) the fan may work OK with some CPU heatsinks.I went with the NB ELOOP B12-2 for my CPU heatsink as it handles the static pressure and orientation better in this case.
