Let me try to re-phrase my question in regards to the cap on the twist off cap version. When you take the cap off, can you place the cap on the back?

no, but it's a really nice pen, I have the fountain pen

Does the cap snap on back while using it?

I believe it does. This was a gift so I don't have access to it. I would recommend you buy screw on caps which will be more secure.

Dropped the fountain pen on the floor, and the nib bent. I know I can't change the nib. Can the pen be sent to manufacturer to get the nib changed?

you can send it to the Fountain Pen Hospital... it's located in NY, but the info's online and you mail it there. It would be easier if you bought a new number 6 size nib and installed it yourself... It's not that hard, I do it all the time myself ... pick one out at Goulet Pens or amazon or Fountain Pen Revolution... all on line. You can also google a youtube on how to do it and it's easy...

Can you provide a link to a large pack of black refills from Amazon?

The refill model no. is "SCHMIDT Refill P900M".
