Reaches Top Ethernet Speeds. Works with Recent Android
I have tested this in a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019), Samsung A50, Pixel 3XL, Pixel XL, and a customized version of LineageOS 16.0 (Android Pie based) on an older Moto Tab. All compatible. Minimum Android version of these is 9.0It also effectively hits maximum theoretical Gigabit speeds in both upload and download on at least the Pixel 3 XL which was an unexpected surprise. Older ASIX chipset based USB3.0 adapters seem to max out at 300Mbps in one direction on the same phone. In fact it was so high for this adapter, that it's clear speedtest.net's Android app cannot reliably test upload speeds this fast because the upload portion completes too quickly! A second speed test via browser showed the true, upload speeds.Ensure that the Ethernet cable is also plugged in to the adapter and live, otherwise just plugging it into the phone without it will make it appear that the adapter is not functional. You will know the connection is operational by seeing an icon pop up in the top right like this: <->

Works with MackBook Air 2018
Another thing Apple left off their new MacBook Air for 2018 is ethernet. When I am on the road, this really helps at customer offices. Wireless is nice when available, but a lot of companies have weird portals to get on their wireless (that require employees to jump through hoops). And sometimes they just are poor performing. Ethernet is, well, ethernet and when available is essential in those conditions. Having USB C means I can plug in the Apple video adapter (another dongle.....) and this into that (how kludgey is that?) and be able to do my job. Why Apple decided having a dozen dongles in a bag to make the MacBook actually work astounds me, but that's where we are. This device works just fine!

Worked just fine out of the box
I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports). It has no ethernet ports. Occasionally I need to connect to Ethernet (RJ45). Hence the need for this adapter. I tested it by connecting it from the MacBook, to an ethernet cable, to an AirPort Extreme, connected to a 2017 iMac via ethernet. I transferred a directory with ~4.4GB of ~7,700 files. It worked just fine out of the box. No software adjustments, just plug and play. The adapter did get a little warmer than I expected.

Great cable!
I recently purchased a Amazon Fire Cube. The cable that came with the Cube offered a to speed of 100 mb, even though I never got over 90 mb, not good enough! I purchased a cable from another company promising top speed 1 gb, it was DOA...waste of money. I bought Cable Matters products before, so I knew it was quality. I went ahead and purchased a USB C to Ethernet cable adapter that offered 1 gb speed ( I also had to purchase a an adapter to connect to the USB cable since the Cube USB port is a micro connection) worked awesome, first try. Now my speeds are 330 mb, much faster then the Amazon cable at 90 mb. I recommend Cable Matters!

Nice, inexpensive USB-C to Ethernet adapter
Been using one of these on a laptop to stream our Sunday services for the better part of 6 months after our original streaming gear was taken out by lightning. It has preformed so well that when we needed another one to send with my daughter off to college, we purchased the same thing. It's inexpensive, is plug-and-play with Windows 10 and works well. I don't know why you would buy another brand.

Sure is a Gigabit Ethernet adapter
Sure is a Gigabit Ethernet adapter, i bought this to hard line my laptop so i can get that sweet gigabit speed. Of course i didnt read the directions but i noticed that if you plugged it into the computer first with the Ethernet cord then plug into the router the computer wont register as being connected to the internet. I just had to unplug from the computer and reseat the adapter and it was connected, did a speed test and boom im in business. Great little adapter to use so you dont bog down any actual usb ports. i recommend

Works great with a Samsung Galaxy Note8 phone.
Purchased this adapter to use an Ethernet connection with my Samsung Galaxy Note8 phone and it worked flawlessly with nothing else to do except plug the adapter into the USB C port on the phone and then plug in the Ethernet cable....nothing else needed to do. The phone will show the icon for an Ethernet connection in the top display.

Works with new XPS 13-9350 model - Plug and Play
I just purchased a Dell XPS 13 9350 laptop (i7, 256gb, QHD display) with the USB-C connector. I'm happy to report that the USB-C to Ethernet connector works immediately out of the box - plug and play. I didn't have to search for any drivers. I am getting the full 95 mb/s my internet provider advertises. I was worried it would be incompatible but I am happily surprised. I plan on purchasing the USB-C to HDMI adapter Cable Matters sell and I hope I will have the same compatibility luck with that adapter.

A PortalTV essential
If you have a PortalTV and can get a ethernet cable to it buy this!I haven't had any issues with buffering, quality drops since installing this on the PortalTV, mentioned it to a few people and they've bought them as well. Granted this is all internet speed dependant. But if you've got a rubbish router or its in a dead spot in the house buy you can get an Ethernet cable to it then it'll be worth its weight in gold to make the Portal useable again.Just remember to tell the portal to use the adaptor unless Facebook have updated it and I haven't checked you had to manually enable the option on the device. It's in the connectivity settings.

Works with Portal TV and seems solid enough
Works well with my portal TV taking another device off my congested WiFi network. The portal seems more reliable during calls and switches us to higher quality sooner. The ethernet menu option in settings just magically appears and WiFi is disabled. Happy with my purchase

Fixed the Portal TV issue
Bought as listed as compatible with Facebook Portal TV. Works perfectly and stopped the issue we had with WiFi signal dropping out. Paired this with some EOP plugs to send the signal from the router to the Portal TV
