If your OEM Yamaha solenoid looked like this one, buy it. The round body style solenoids are junk.
I purchased this for a '98 Yamaha Kodiak. The original OEM has blue and red wires and that's the only difference I can tell. This has a rectangular body, fits perfectly and is well sealed for ATV use. I originally had purchased a round one here on Amazon that is listed as compatible (item B0073UMCROin my case), but those are junk. I wish I had found this part originally. A big bonus it this part is cheaper than most of the junk listings.There's dozens of listings for the round ones that say they are compatible but the fit is wrong, not sealed properly to keep out moisture and they won't last, so don't waste your time and money on those.

Fixed on the cheap. 2006 Yam Wolverine
Installed like the OEM on a 2006 Yamaha Wolverine. Much cheaper than the OEM if you can actually find one instock. Seems to be working fine still after 2 months but I haven't had it underwater.

This solenoid outperformed the standard round solenoids by far.
I have tried four regular round atv solenoids and got tired of replacing them . This rectangular shaped solenoid performed great and has lasted longer.
