MeindlDovre Pro (Short) GTX

The manufacturer claims these boots are comfortable straight from the box and i found the claim to be true. I bought half a size up from my usual size 9 and i think it was a good decision as i like to wear thick socks with my winter boots.The quality of these boots is clear as soon as you see them and even more so when you wear them as they are not only of solid construction with a great Vibram sole but also very comfortable with memory foam that molds to your foot, if anything they get more comfortable the longer you wear them. I have worn them in torrential rain and very wet conditions and my feet were kept dry and warm and the quality of the boot gives you the confidence that they won't let you down.For what its worth i would recommend these boots. They are certainly the best i have ever had.

Buy a pair of these every year before the winter - working construction. On my feet most days all day.Ordinary boots i'd get through 3 pairs a year. These last a full 12 months before the treads worn away and the uppers are looking tired.Good ankle support, look like proper work boots and keep dry feet unless in walking through wet grass all day.Get half a size up.

Very nice and well made pair of boots. I have slim feet and they fit me perfectly. I am size 7 and ordered that size. I have only worn normal socks so far, but there is probably enough space for a thick pair of winter socks

They go through anything, any season, wet, dry, mud, sand, water - like having tanks on your feet!

These are sturdy, well-made boots that deliver on the maker's promise that they are comfortable out of the box. I have wide feet with a high instep that are a nightmare to fit, but these boots are OK with adequate support for the instep. Ankle support is comfortable but could be stronger. It isn't clear from the maker's description whether or not these are the same wide fit as the longer boots in the same range, but probably they are. There may be other styles from Meindl that are also wide fitting, but this is another mystery.

These are really good boots, I found I needed half a size bigger. They are comfortable and can be worn straight out of the box. They are totally waterproof and I can trudge through small streams and puddles although I haven't tried them as a wellington and gone wading.

I wear the Dovre extreme high legs as the norm in my job. Thought id try the short for lighter stuff and day to day and not dissatisfied. Can’t go wrong with Meindl I’ve been wearing them for over 30 years. Best boots bar none.

These are outstanding boots unless you have wobbly ankles. I have the full height Dovre Extremes, which are amazing but too hot for summer, so I thought I would try these. My ankles are all over the place in them, whereas I have other boots of the same height (8") that are absolutely fine. I think it is something to do with the cutaway shape at the top cuff and the soft material of the cuff itself. Anyway, these don't do it for me, and I would warn away anyone who needs real ankle support. Stick to the full height ones or get something else!
