Great replacement
I lost the remote to the Chiphy lamp I purchased a year ago. The bulbs were still going strong but I couldn’t change the colors.I really like the lamp but didn’t want to spend over $100 on something that wasn’t broken.I did a quick search in the questions area of the lamp and a Chiphy representative had an answer for someone that lost their remote. They included a link to this product. Here I am. I wish they sold the individual remote without the bulbs but this is a happy compromise. The bulbs and remote function flawlessly.

Amazing color changing bulb with remote!
This bulb can be screwed into any normal outlet and programmed. It has many different color settings to choose from. This is a very cool option because you can coordinate for different holidays.

Item desc says UL Listed. Item, manuals, packaging have no UL Listing marks whatsoever.
The item's Amazon description clearly says (as of the time I write this) that the item is UL Listed. When I received it, the items themselves (two light bulbs and a remote control), the associated manuals and packaging have no UL Listing marks whatsoever. Every UL-Listed item I've ever seen in my life displays the "UL Listed" mark on the item itself and usually also in the manuals and packaging too. The product works well, but I require UL Listing as promised in the item description and there's no evidence of actual UL Listing, so I'm returning this item. /// UPDATE: I just noticed they've now removed "UL Listed" from the product's name on Amazon. When I ordered, it was this: "chiphy Color Changing Light Bulb with Remote, 7 Color Changing Led Light Bulb, 9W (60W Equivalent), UL Listed, A19 Base, 2500K-6500K, Adjustable Color Temperature and Brightness, 2-Pack." Now as I write this update, it is this: "chiphy Color Changing Light Bulb with Remote, 7 Color Changing Led Light Bulb, 9W (60W Equivalent), A19 Base, 2500K-6500K, Adjustable Color Temperature and Brightness, 2-Pack". Notice it's the same, except "UL Listed" was removed. I am glad to see they've apparently now corrected the false information about UL Listing. I'm adding 2 stars for their honesty and quick correction, and because the product does work really well. If you don't care about UL Listing, it's very nice!

Fix the listing. You get two bulbs, no remote and it might connect to WiFi.
I ordered these bulbs after buying the tall lamp with color changing bulbs. It’s awesome, so I figured I’d get more lights and add them around my home. The ad stated there was a bulb and a remote. However all I received was two bulbs. There are instructions on how to add them to work with your phone. However after 30 min of trying everything I could think of nothing is working. No color changing just white bulbs. They won’t connect to WiFi or my remote from the same company.

LOVE these, but instructions for setting them up are unclear and complicated
These are AWESOME! I didn’t even know lightbulbs like these existed, I stumbled across them (and the many MANY similar options) when my father made me search for 3-way lightbulbs for two ancient 3-way lamps in our living room. Lamps we always leave on the dimmest setting and never use the two brighter options, but absolutely still need to have 3-way lightbulbs for “just in case…”When you search “lightbulbs” on Amazon, SO MANY cool options come up!! I’m actually kind of grateful my dad made me look them up (but don’t you DARE tell him that!!). These are one of those options. The setup sounds confusing even in the description, especially the part that says these will only work with a 2.4GHz band modem - mine has both a 2.4GHz and a 5GHz band, and I initially thought you had to completely disable/turn off the 5GHz in order for these to work. That’s neither fun nor convenient as the only way I know of to do that is to login on my internet service provider’s admin site, which I’m pretty sure most ppl don’t know how to do. I’m tech savvy, so it was still doable for me…but I later found out that you don’t have to disable the 5GHz, you just have to also have a 2GHz to connect these to.These are controlled by an app, so you have to download the app, then connect each lightbulb to your network separately. Again, the process is unclear and a bit confusing, but I eventually figured it out and got them to work. They’re definitely very cool! There are 8 pre-set modes available that have different patterns of colors, breathing rates, brightness, etc., all of which you can fully customize. You can also create your own.My favorite thing about these bulbs is that they’re not just for having different colored lights - they can also be be the color of average lightbulbs! In addition to the modes, there’s an option to use them as standard bulbs…but you have the same options for changing the tint/vibrancy and brightness level of the white (warm/cool white, warm/cool yellow, bright LED white, etc.). Just like with the colors, you have the added ability to make them as bright or dim as you want them, so you no longer need 3-way capable lamps and/or a dimmer switch to accomplish that!Overall, I love these! The upright lamps in my pics used to be touch turn-on, but they haven’t worked for YEARS - I’ve been turning them on and off by unscrewing/tightening the lightbulbs. Because these RGB bulbs are operated by the app, not only do I no longer have to tighten or loosen the bulbs to turn them on and off, but I don’t even have to be physically near them. I’m lazy, so that’s priceless in my book, lol! I definitely recommend these, but keep in mind the fact that you’ll need to be mid-level tech-savvy (or know someone else who is) to get them up and running.

The concept is brilliant but the sub-standard manual keeps them from maximizing their potential.
The mere ability to adjust both luminosity and color temperature is exceedingly valuable in any photographic or videographic setting. At the very least these bulbs do just that. But they're controlled by a nifty programmable remote control that is barely usable due to incomplete and inaccurate documentation. The fact that they come with a "programmable" is not well detailed in the product description. However, the sub-standard remote control manual is totally inadequate for maximizing the use of the bulbs. #1-the manual doesn't cover all the programmable features; #2-the bulbs don't seem to respond to the remote input as described; #3-what is detailed in the slim, one-page manual is frankly indecipherable. Chiphy Lighting really needs to unleash the complete potential of these bulbs by providing more complete and more accurate documentation. Do that and this could have been a 5-star review.
