I first learned of this roller while doing research on hamstring extensibility. The study in question found that five to ten seconds of rolling increased hamstring extensibility. PS: Hamstrings or other muscles don't get "short", they become over-active/tense. By whatever mechanism you prefer to believe--there is no certainty about why yet--using rollers helps allow muscles to relax as opposed to being mechanically stretched. Anyhow, since buying this, I have tried many other roller sticks, and I keep coming back to this one. Unlike other rollers, the surface ridges on this are fine enough to catch all targeted tissue surface. Unlike rollers with multiple "knobs" or separate parts, this works as a unit and applies consistent pressure. Unlike many rollers, this is stiff enough to use with high pressure for areas of muscle that require more pressure, e.g. the adductors of the thigh. It is solid! Finally, for travel purposes, it comes apart so that it fits on my carry-on. This roller is a MUST for me wherever I go, and in fact I'm posting here because I lost mine and the two loaner rollers I had been using sucked, so I'm going to buy another one :-)

Bought this as part of my physical therapy for a broken kneecap. Helped with recovery of mobility and pain relief.

Easy to use and made with quality construction. I use it for my sore muscles and my cellulite that is smoothing out more as the weeks go by. Granted I do go to the gym, but the stubborn dimples are improving. I have a very tight lower back and this has helped amazingly. The nest part is that I can use a lot of pressure and get almost all the areas of my body that I used to have to depend on someone else to manage. Buy this on over all the others on this site and you will not be sorry!!

Got this after having it used on my at physical therapy. Good price for it, and an effective tool. MY PT recommended this one over the one that breaks down with removable handles, as in her experience, that one does not last.

My first encounter with the roller was when my physical therapist used it on me. Oh my! I can't begin to tell you how good it felt while she rolled my lower back. And afterwards? No masseuse could make my back feel as relaxed. As soon as I got home I ordered one. One advantage to the roller is that it can be used everywhere: calves, upper and lower back, thighs. And the other plus- you don't need another person. You can use it on yourself. The roller comes with instructions on where and how to use it. This product comes from professionals so I know I can trust the instructions. Please take my word for this; as a nurse, I know when I'm getting an excellent product used on the body. You will love it.

My chiropractor recommended using this over using a foam roller. It is much easier to use than getting on the floor.

This roller works great. You do not have to press hard, the roller does the job itself. Buy it and get rid of the pain!
