Bought this so I could untether myself from power, buy an external battery pack for recharge and take a mini carving rotary tool anywhere for light sanding, grinding and polishing of wood and stone. Light weight, good torc and long battery power was a must have.I’ve now used it in anger quite a bit on small carvings in seasoned beech and other hardwoods, utilising both burr and diamond coated bits as well as traditional drilling. I’ve not been disappointed at all. Really good power control, easy swapping of bits and with a range of interchangeable chuck jaw sizes it offers a range of shank diameter usage so all my other attachments for the corded Dremel fit. Relatively low noise though my wife says I now ruin a good view in the quiet country with the sound, but it’s not at all noisy and I can use happily for extended periods.Small compact and lightweight, fits in the hand well, though the air vent for the motor can be covered by your hand so I tend to have the vent uppermost with the chuck lock down. (The opposite of the pic posted). In doing so I’ve not noticed the motor get too hot. It does get warm after 15 minutes continuous use. Power is good and battery life is for the price excellent. On off usage keeps me going for a good 3 to 4 hours stop start. The more pressure applied the higher and faster the drain as you’d expect.Charging takes a few hours from low power to green light showing. The LEDs go red quite quick after charge but it holds a decent charge before the motor starts to slow and labour when the juice runs low. All in all I’d recommend it as a low price solution for lightweight work. I would buy this again without much thought. Very pleased as it meets my needs perfectly and compliments my hand tools when carving wood. I’m now able to carry it around and can do so much more when out and about and when camping. Buy an external battery pack and charge it on the go.

This is fantastic. I own professional DeWalt drills, bench saws, etc. and own a few different small corded multi-drills like this inc a bit of a beefier one by RS Components. All that said I'd say I'm in a ideal position as a reviewer. For it's size this is extremely powerful... putting that into perspective it will comfortably, with a thin resin impregnated cutting disk this will easily cut off a 10mm steel bolt. You have to understand that such a task will take a good 40 seconds (these things are small don't forget) but the accuracy and usage flexibility more than makes up for the extra time taken to achieve great feats. You can grind a small hole through toughened glass (add co stant water spray by hand) in a minute or two. Could you cut a bathroom tile? Yes but you wouldn't want to cut loads but you'll be thanking the heavens (or wherever) that you had this for a nasty little corner or shape that northern tool can reach/perform. Polishes like a dream... Little tip here is that for a really gentle but perfectly workable gentle buffing compound you can use toothpaste with these little drills and their soft fiber pllishjng wheels - yes really! Use so.e hard buffing compound and they will easily buff up stainless steel etc.I live this thing as I don't have to go and setup my bench power supply or portable 12v battery just to use one for a quick cut/polish/grind. One of my best purchases.

I teach the older generation glass engraving and they are just the job. I bought 11 unfortunately one of them became faulty and Amazon refunded me for it. But now another one is starting to go wrong. I only use them twice a week for 2 hours each time. But on the whole I would say... Very good for the price

This is a very handy tool for not much money. Absolute must if you make plastic model kits, for example.

+ It's a dremel+ It's lightweight+ It works- Charge doesn't last long (only suitable for small projects- Poor torque (even for a dremel)- Gets SUPER hot during use- Some of the included bits are poor quality- No battery cutoff or storage case (very easy to turn on in your tool case)Depends what you're using it for - polishing and light sanding/detailing, or on very soft materials, and for only maybe half hour at a time - go for it. If you need need something with more torque or battery life, get a corded dremel.

I have used several of these in the past this is the best one by far its cordlessness makes it very easy to control the various speeds is easily adjusted. The way you change the nib is the same as any other. Great purchase.
