Aqueon Algae Rounds, Fish Food 3 Ounces

This review is for Aqueon Algae Rounds 3 Ounces. I normally buy Tetra Pro Pleco Wafer but when the price skyrocketed for those I had to try something else. My pleco seems to like this wafer as much as the other one (or maybe more who knows?). These have a mounded shape to them and smell “good”. I’ve been giving my pleco one chip at a time and giving him 2 hours to chomp chomp (as recommended). He watches me drop the wafer and comes by to suck it up. Very fascinating to watch. Anyway, this one is pricey also for 3oz but as long as my pleco enjoys it, I may just switch back and forth to give him some variety in his diet. My dude is about 10 years old now so he’s very special. I like that these rounds do not cloud up my tank. I also notice that my pleco does not leave too much trialing poop in the tank or maybe none at all ever since I’ve switched to them. My tank seems to stay cleaner longer. Overall, these algae rounds seem to be just as good as the Tetra wafers I’ve been giving my pleco. He seems to enjoy them just as much so I’d give them a 5.0/5.0 - 07/17/2026.

I would definitely buy again.. I feel like there's definitely less fillers or feels and smells more natural.. the snails love them but they are had to break so I break them up before I feed so they don't hog them lol it says. Also it says natural ingredients on there. Again I'm sure it's not all but can definitely tell it's more than others I've tried. Worth it to me

This algae is very easy to feed. The directions are only for algae, eating fish. I bought this to use for my aquarium snails at this point I feed one pallet about once a week they seem to do doing very well on this algae. My tank has not become overrun with algae or any other grossness that can be associated with fish sticks.

When I put them in the tank my green cory cats and flagtail catfish pounce on them!! An entire tablet is a bit too much to feed them every day so I had to get a pill splitter and cut them in half. They're very hard and thick and don't break apart easy, thus, I needed the pill splitter. My catfish seem very happy about them. Good purchase and a really good price!

This item arrived quickly and was exactly what the description stated. I grind these pellets up and feed it to small fish because the powder version is very expensive to purchase. The little fish / Fry love this stuff. The amount you get is right for the amount you pay and will definitely purchase more when i need to.

Good for snails

These pellets have no structural integrity—they dissolve in a algae clump about 30 to an hour minutes after placing them in the water. However, our mystery snail and shrimp love the algae rounds. The snail attaches itself to a round almost immediately after placing it in the water, and our betta has even taken a nibble himself. Do recommend.

my fish seems to love it so I will give 5 stars according to that. no way I will taste it!

Shrimp absolutely loved this. I would break off a piece and they would swarm it like kids would an ice cream truck.
