Filter housing working as advertised. Basic plumber skills to install. So far all is good. Price was very competitive

If you're looking for a whole house filter, this is it ! Installation isn't easy but it isn't terribly difficult either. Total time for me was about 7 hours (including one extra trip to the hardware store) but could have been a lot less. First the bad news... I had two leaks ( a fitting and the o-ring seal). However, both of these turned out to be operator error and were easily taken care of. Also, the bracket comes with screws to mount onto the filter housing, but not to mount the bracket to a wall so be aware of this. Second the good news... I love this filter system. It wasn't terribly difficult to install. As you can see, I included a by-pass so that I can change the filters without shutting off water to the house. This housing unit is compatible with any filter that is 10x4.5" so you can easily choose the filter that suites your particular application. I would recommend getting a spare filter, so that you already have one when it's time to change. As for changing the filter, there is no indicator (I actually like this because no batteries or electricity is required). To know when to change, check your last year's water bill and estimate time based on water usage and filter capacity. In short, if you need or want a whole house water filter, this is a great buy for the money ! Highly recommended !

I like that the threads are brass instead of plastic. No leaks anywhere, they come with everything needed to install them, so you don't have to hunt for the right size screws. I redesigned my water treatment system to allow easier filter changes and these work perfectly. You can't even get the name brand blue ones for this price, and with these you get coat so you can see how much sediment is built up. Good buy.

20x4.5 inch filter. The brass fittings leaked but after wrapping an absurd amount of tape around the threads it sealed up just fine. Otherwise it feels quite sturdy and should do the job just fine

Bought and installed in March of 2024. August 2026 silicone drip mat under sink filled to almost overflowing from a pinhole leak in bottom of filter. Looking inside the bottom housing (picture) there is a CRACK going more than half way around the bottom. It looks as if the bottom was close to BLOWING OUT and then there would have been a FLOOD! THIS MAY HAVE BEEN A ONE IN A MILLION CHANCE but I wouldn't take the chance and buy this again! Taking a second look ,it looks like a design error. If you hold it up to a light, you can see the plastic around the outer edge is thinner than the rest. If the bottom was squared off instead round it would be thicker and probably not become a problem. Looking at other reviews of this it looks as if transparent housings are more prone to breaking catastrophically.

Goes before our water softener and keeps whole house water filtered. Make sure to change filter every 4-6 months depending on water usage. A dirty filter will drop water pressure quickly. Very easy diy install.

Meets my expectations

Seems to be a nice unit. Was simple to install. inclusion of some mounting screws would have been a nice touch. I installed it to filter bore water for my pool, so the install is a bit rough on my part but the unit seems to do the trick. Nice clean water coming through and no leaks from the housing. The ‘O’ ring is a little flimsy and could be more robust. Given the price it’s a pretty good unit. I am happy with it.

Very pleased with this filter. Easy installation and our water tastes great now. Please note that a lot of Teflon thread tape(included) is needed on the 3/4” x 1” MNPT adapters(sold separately) to avoid leaks. I would also strongly recommend O-Ring silicone grease for the rubber washer.
